  1. Charlie Donnelly is tearing the NUW apart in a mad quest for power.

NUW members need to say “enough is enough”

Say it by VOTING NO next week!

It will do them no good.Shannahan is about as useless as tits on a bull.

    Posted by Fuckknuckle. | February 28, 2009, 18:21
  7. Hey Fuckknuckle, you claim Shannahan is useless as tits on a bull, a bull has no tits like Shannahan, she’s flat as a surfboard!

A few other points need to be conceded about this piece of shit:

    1. Shannahan slept with Sword to get her position.
    2. She gave head to Paul Stafford to get to LUCRF.
    3. She dumped her long term boyfriend to move to a drugie.
    4. She is so lazy she would have you wipe her arse and nose if you obliged.
    5. She even took it up the arse from Moran to cover her misgivings.

And this is the low life that wants to run the Queensland Branch, no wounder Dudley, or is it Donnelly wants her in the seat,

    VOTE NO, VOTE OFTEN!

  8. It’s comments like the above that are the reason the yes vote will win.

Such posts by Q1 really shed light on the QLD Branch & why it is a basket case.

Can’t wait to take it work.

Q1 I think you just locked up about 60 votes for the yes case.

Is the National Office paying you?

Ordinary members just want good service from decent officials.

Argue the issues you fools, & VEXNEWS should delete such posts

  10. Dear Senator Fuckknuckle (how appropriate)& State Secretary Q1 (penis envy much?),

I have no doubt that after QLD unionism’s many true sisters and brothers are shown your vile and bottom-feeding exploits, you won’t feel quite so clever. The grade 8 bully always gets his. And senator, the great irony here is that when the shit storm comes for you, NO-ONE will lift a finger.

I strongly suggest you fuck off from this place.

  15. It’s a simple thing.

    Union members own their union.

If union leaders dont accept this then they need to go.

NUW Assist hase been a failure by any true standards of measure. I would know I work for the Vic Branch. Not all of us are happy about this and we know our boss is keen to be the next General Secretary when Charlie goes to the Vic upper house.

Not all of us agree with this ballot but what can we do?

NUW assist is too under staffed to run as efficiently as it could. For the past three weeks all we have been doing is calling NUW members in SA & Qld and a few in NSW.

We have been told to lift the stats on the Yes voters. How do we do that? By lying, and not all of us are pleased about that.

If anyone in “Goontown” (our word for the NSW Branch) wants to pull Charlie up, find out how much has been spent on NUW Assist calls.

    Posted by anon | March 1, 2009, 9:28
  16. Dear QLD Unionist (part time LUCRF employee) and Goodnight Nurse (Vic Donnelly arsewipe). A greater irony is that when Donnelly gets whats comming to him, not only will no one lift a finger, many will stand and cheer.
By the way, QLD Unionist, if you truely are a QLD Unionist, which I strongly doubt, why do you support Donnelly`s tactic of railroading true QLD members with votes from Victoria?

I think Q1 has got Shannahan spot on. The truth allways hurts.

    Posted by Fuckknuckle. | March 1, 2009, 14:51
  17. Hey Pineapple Pete, why are you trying to make people think you`re a Queenslander when you are really from Victoria?

You should call yourself Pricksucker Pete.

  18. “By the way, QLD Unionist, if you truely are a QLD Unionist, which I strongly doubt, why do you support Donnelly`s tactic of railroading true QLD members with votes from Victoria?”

Because I am a unionist who happens to be a QLD’er. As a unionist I support a strong united national organisation. Not some pathetic rump of failed officials from other unions. I also think talking about the issues is more valuable than personal slander.

But I guess your view is, if you don’t have a story to tell make one up.

By the way “Fuckknuckle” did “Goodnight Nurse” hit a raw nerve??

Who is Senator Fuckknuckle? and does K.R. know???

  21. Donnelly sits on the LUCRF board with the Employee Relations Manager of Pacific Brands. Danni Shannahan is doing Donnelly’s dirty work whilst on the LUCRF payroll.
Pacific Brands have said they will only deal with Donnelly and not QLD officials. Very interesting.
    1. Why are Pacific Brands involving themselves in NUW Union elections and how have they got time given they have just sacked 1850 workers?
    2. Why hasn’t the NUW National Secretary Charlie Donnelly said anything publicly about Pacific Brands in what the ACTU’s Sharron Burrows has described as “corporate Australia has lost its moral compass.”
    3. Why do we have LUCRF staff (Danni Shannahan) campaigning for the National Secretary whilst employed by LUCRF with NUW members’ superannuation funds.

    VOTE NO.

Fuckknuckle, Q1 and the others who spinelessly defame the players in this pathetic spectacle; if you are NUW officials, you do not deserve to be involved with the union movement. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Anyway, I had been told ages ago that NUW officials were mostly just a mob of posturing spivs that were found discarded in the refuse bins of other unions. Now it is plain to see that you are.

A general secretary that cannot get a decent federal agreement is a general secretary that doesnt deserve his job.

And these two blokes want to control the whole union!

  29. When the YES vote wins there will be MORE local organisers on the ground in Qld, SA and WA.
And they won’t be ex-HR or neighbors daughters.
As well as any existing organisers who can do the job – nearly all in my humble opinion – there will be the best delegates from those states taken on as organisers.
They will have to work hard and well, as anyone priveliged enought to work for a union should.
The claim that all local organisers will be sacked is a lie put out by the no case in lieu of any genuine arguments against the changes.
A question to finish – why couldn’t the Polar Fresh delegate in Qld get any membership forms from the Qld office for over three weeks? Many calls made, no response. Doesn’t sound right to me.

  56. #reposted from earlier vex board:
    http://www.vexnews.com/news/928/ouch-nuw-contemplates-radical-surgery-without-anesthetic/

Firstly, let me say I am a new delegate (a whole 6 weeks) and am busily trying to get my head around this. I have a bit of information, but a lot seems emotionally charged and a bit abstract.

Until I recieved the Ballot today, I didn’t actually know what we were voting on. So, in the interest democracy, I would like to have some discussion.

Everyone got their ballot and document describing the rule changes?

Good. Now can we stop the personal attacks and partisan rally crys? Let’s look at what rule changes are proposed and decide why we should vote yes or no.

Anyone got a link to the full set of rules as they stand? We need these to understand some of the changes.

    referencing the rule amendments doc mailed with the ballot;
    - is my current understanding of the item and
    * is my assesment of what I think it’s all about:

    A. – seems to be a name change Central Branch to General Branch.

*Ok if all else is Ok

    B. – seems to be to stop paid officials double dipping by being paid officials of another union (and avoids conflict of interest)

    *Ok by me

    C. – seems to be about money funnelling.

*I don’t have enough info to know if this is OK. It is about other peoples money, so ethically, I can not vote yes to this without more info.

    D. – more money detail stuff …
    *Dunno

    E. – more money stuff.
    *Again, Dunno

    F. – even more money stuff.
    *still, Dunno

    G. – National Committee chooses General Branch office Location.

*Why can’t the General Branch Officers do that? Probably doesn’t matter much though with modern communications, location is of little concequence. If everything else is OK, I reckon I’d let this slide

    H. -defining new turf boundaries

*has to be done for the plan to work

    I. – ???
    * how can you vote on something you don’t understand?

    J. – document housekeeping?
    * if that is all it is, OK

    K. – I can make no sense of this without the source document.

    * again, how can you vote on something you don’t understand?

    L. – the structure of the general branch committee.

    * If this is a dublicate of Vic and NSW branch structure, that seems Ok. right now, dunno.

    M. – a special structure for General Branch to provide a voice for the subjugated states?

    * if that will work, it seems reasonable.

    N. – Ammendments to meeting rules (to cope with transit issues for general branch?)

    * if that is the motive, seems OK

    O. – rules for the transition and a plan for structural changes

    * seems practical from here and OK unless someone can point out otherwise

As it stands, I can not confidently vote in this referendum. I simply don’t know enough about how my vote will effect the Union.

So, Yes Vote campaigners, No Vote campaigners, convince me. Explain what the changes mean, point by point, in the context of the union today and into the future and win my vote.

“Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government.”

Will you cop the rap or will you say you were instructed to do it.

Posted by Well Well Well. | March 4, 2009, 22:53
  59. For Jason:

Your points are reasonable but you must factor into the whole issue this point(emotive that it may seem):
Will any NUW members be better off if the smaller states are disolved? I’d say no. Also, one must question who AND how organisers will be appointed. Who will they be? Currently, the state branch leadership is elected, a fair and democratic process, as are some of the officials or they are appointed by elected individuals. So, is it not a step backwards to remove that democracy?

The other thing, overlooked by many in Vic, and at the risk of entering a motherhood statement, is: don’t the members own the union? If so, then why should their assets (eg the state branches) be removed to be “given” to a general branch?

What gets me most about this issue is that the members will be under writing it all…not to mention the cost of this whole campaign. I think it is ethically wrong, and what Donnelly has done is unforgivable.

Anyway, I agree, lets discuss the pros & cons. So far, the cons are ahead.

One other point – Donnelly talks about the future…protection and such…let’s look at all the closures which have happened under his watch. Seriously – think about that and his general administration. He spends far too much time as ALP president in Victoria, a sin he accused Greg Sword of publicly before he knifed him a few years ago.

The outcome of the ballot will have no bearing on NSW. So, this slogan is misleading, deceptive and a clear indicator that Donnelly has lost the moral argument in this debate. Openly lying to cause confusion, while using NUW members’ money to do it, is an act of a desperate man.

  69. First of all to Qld Unionist Im extremely disapointed that you want shit on your fellow Qld members. You voted against us at the Qld delegates training day, just so are able to become an organiser for the Donnelly regime. Yes I know who you are!!! Glad I don’t work at your site. Hopefully your 60 members see you you for the two face scum you are! Secondly I can vouch for the fact that the national branch used Danni Shannahan to canvas Qld members. LUCRF is our superannuation fund the last time I checked not another faction for Charlie to use.
Thirdly I received some documentation from a fellow member on the NUW strategy for the future. It was very conflicting from the structure delivered to us in the ballot rule changes. Ballot rule change states that all branch secretaries and officals will keep their jobs, but the NUW stratergy I have obtained shows otherwise.

Tell me how this will gives us a stronger union in the future when you have hierachy that keep tell us bullshit? Too much conflicting information in this campain from the national branch. This concerns me when it comes to the next agreement my company has to negotiate. Will the organiser from Victoria tell its members one thing and tell our employer another?

Qld Unionist stand by your fellow members in Qld and don’t believe the stuff you’ve been told from Victoria, you will just be a puppet.

Maybe we should call you KERMIT!!!!

  72. We nust all ponder again the passage below before we vote.

Read this then go and vote in truth

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?
BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!
JOHN MCCAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
SARAH PALIN: BECAUSE, PRAISE JESUS, I WAS GONNA SHOOT HIS SORRY LIBERAL ASS OFF FOR BLOCKING MY VIEW OF RUSSIA!
HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn’t about me.
GEORGE W. BUSH: We don’t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.
    DICK CHENEY: Where’s my gun?
COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.
BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of crossing?
AL GORE: I invented the chicken.
JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken’s intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.
AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.
DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won’t realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he’s acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.
OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I’m going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.
NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he’s guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmers Mark et to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I’ve not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.
JERRY FALWELL: Because the chicken was gay! Can’t you people see the plain truth? That’s why they call it the other side. Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay, too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like the other side. That chicken should not be crossing the road. It’s as plain and as simple as that.
GRANDPA: In my day we didn’t ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.
BARBARA WALTERS: Isn’t that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.
ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.
BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash.
ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

PACIFIC BRANDS EXECUTIVE MUST BE REMOVED AS LUCRF SUPER FUND DIRECTOR
    March 6, 2009
MEDIA RELEASE FRIDAY MARCH 6TH 2009

    A Joint statement from:

Mr. Derrick Belan, NUW (NSW Branch) State Secretary

Mr. John Cosgrove, NUW (Queensland Branch) State Secretary

Mr. Nick Thredgold, NUW (South Australia Branch) State Secretary

Mr. Joe Bullock, NUW (Western Australia Branch) State Secretary

As the State Leaders of the National Union Of Workers (NUW) in NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, we are seeking a commitment from NUW General Secretary Charlie Donnelly, in his role as the Chairman of the LUCRF Superannuation Fund to remove Mr. Ted Eftimiadis as a director of the LUCRF board of Directors. As Mr. Eftimiadis is also the Employee Relations Manager of Pacific Brands, we feel his position as a director of LUCRF Super is inappropriate & untenable.

In light of the recent decision reached by Pacific Brands to terminate the employment of 1,850 workers, we feel it is an insult to those sacked workers and to the working people who keep their superannuation with LUCRF Super to have an executive of Pacific Brands in a paid position on the fund’s board.

It is important that industry superannuation funds, of which LUCRF was the first in Australia, to have directors who reflect the standards and values of the working people who entrust these organisations to be custodians of their retirement funds.

Considering the actions of Pacific Brands, we feel it is entirely appropriate to ask Mr. Donnelly to remove Mr. Eftimiadis from the LUCRF board. Furthermore, we regret that Mr. Donnelly does not see the inconsistency in Mr. Ted Eftimiadis being a director of an industry Super fund and an executive of a company that so ruthlessly sought to terminate the employment of so many Australians.

    Ends.
