MISSING IN ACTION: Ronan Lee mystery haunts Tasmanian Greens party
Former Queensland Labor MP turned Greens politician and staffer Ronan Lee is the subject of intense speculation in Tasmanian political circles. After his departure – first reported on VEXNEWS – as the most powerful Greens party staffer for “health reasons†many in the Tasmanian government have talked about what the real reason might be.
It is understood that pants-man Ronan Lee is in good health and that other issues – much talked about – prompted Lee to flee as the head of office (chief of staff) to Greens minister Nick McKim.
Newshound Sean Ford at the Burnie Advocate has been a dog with a bone on the issue, chasing the elusive former MP and high-profile staffer for comment which he has been so far unwilling to provide.
Ford has revealed that Lee was once very close with McKim and his lover Tasmanian Cabinet Secretary Cass O’Connor, living in their house for a time.
The Tasmanian Opposition have demanded that the Greens be true to their principles and offer transparency, accountability and disclosure to the electorate over the behaviour of their senior staff.
Nick McKim is currently overseas on a junket. Greens federal MP for Melbourne Adam Bandt is also believed to be travelling overseas, enlarging his carbon footprint, ahead of the start of Parliamentary sittings later this month.
