GEORGE DROUTSAS: Is he guilty of creating a “false document” because a political candidate he encouraged to run got cold feet or says they didn’t know what they were signing?

Popular Victorian ALP identity George Droutsas appears in the County Court this week, defending gravely serious charges that he made or used a false document in relation to nominations for a council election. When you look what’s behind the charges though, it’s almost hard to believe it reached court at all because all of the candidates acknowledge signing the documents in question and there is considerable evidence suggesting they were very clearly told what they were signing on for.
