HULLSTOPIAN: Baillieu’s “tough on crime” pledge replaced by “conference sessions” for “grossly violent” brats decreed The Age

The Victorian Liberals pledged to be tough on crime but now plan to give grossly violent teen offenders a leave pass, with a politically correct programme of diversion programmes, education programmes, conference sessions and education rather than doing what they promised to do before the last election: require judges to jail those who brutally injure others in acts of serious violence. UPDATE: The Age’s reporting on this was greatly exaggerated, as is customarily the case. The Victorian Attorney-General Robert Clark is not for turning.
