A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME: Aspiring lawmaker Fiona Byrne admits theft

Aspiring Member of the NSW Legislative Assembly and anti-Israel crusader Fiona Byrne has admitted stealing opponents’ campaign signs and is attempting to sell them online to raise funds for her Greens party.

Grassroots democracy activists have participated in the NSW election by putting up anti-Greens signs in a number of inner-city electorates including Marrickville where notorious anti-Israel bigot Fiona Byrne is the endorsed Greens party candidate.

VEXNEWS Investigations Unit members have taken photographs of some of the posters, which make the point that by pushing for a Nazi-style boycott of Israel, the Greens party is positioning itself with misogynist, homophobic, racist regimes in the Middle East who would like nothing better than to drive Israel’s six million Jews into the sea.

Byrne as the Mayor of Marrickville has championed Nazi-style anti-Israel boycotts and has threatened to introduce them throughout New South Wales if elected to Parliament.

  4. “Nazi-Style”?! For crying out loud Andrew, EVERYONE knows that’s the fastest way to lose an argument online.

All things said against the current Israeli policies is not Nazi-esque and to suggest as much is school-yard simplicity of the kind that makes one terrified for the state of the school to which the yard is appended!

  7. Much more serious than the Green’s petty larceny is their self-important twaddle about being pro community. This hypocrisy comes from a political party that would like to slash the numbers of citizens living in the community by condemning so many humans to death as a direct result of their policies on creating a sustainable planet. Note it is not the community they wish to be sustained – it is the gaia planet itself that they elevate to some mythical spiritual status far transcending human dignity.

NSW Greens policy applied literally would send us back to where the human population barely reached that of 30,000 BC and where our use of resources similarly was minimal. They’d like us to live like those ancient times when men roamed the steppes of Africa with flint knives on sticks chasing wild game and the elderly (i.e. those 25 years old) and the young (i.e. those sub 8) and the infirm (those mauled by wild animals or debilatated by some now curable disease) gathered berries and beat animal skins with rocks to create clothing.

I’m not sure how the vegan chattering classes would survive without their frothy soy decaf and Age newspaper in the morning so there is a silver lining to the grey cloud of Green induced misery after all.

  13. Giuseppe,I think this woman is a twit, but then again, your comment about the Greens condemning people to death makes you a twit squared.

BTW, what you say about Africa – you made that up, didn’t you? I mean, no person who can open a book and read the words without moving their mouth could believe this rubbish about Africans chasing the elderly and the young.

Are you a certified moron or is this just a hobby you engage in?

    Posted by wendy | March 17, 2011, 9:29
  14. Wendy – you are the moron (certified, or as a hobby, a moron either way). Learn to read, and some basics of sentence construction. The nouns (“doing-words”, for the pre-literate like you) ‘elderly’ and ‘young’ attach to the verbs (“doing-words”) ‘gathered’ and ‘beat’, not ‘chasing’.

    You are an A-grade twit.

  19. Well Wendy didnt take too long to pop in a personal attack.

You do have question the judgement of a candidate to firstly tear the posters down, but then have a photo taken with them…why they didnt just try to spin a story to the media about unfair attacks by people not willing to authorise their material…then again thats the quality of judgement we can expect from this extremist rabble.

  20. Sotherby, I said I thought this women is a twit. She is a prime pillock, no question of that. She’s got a mind comprised of buttock gravy. Got it?

What I went on to say is I am yet to find a Greens policy advocating the death of millions of humans and a return to prehistoric ways of living. Perhaps that Geeseeppee bloke could direct me to the relevant document. When he made such a claim, he should be able to reference it, otherwise one might think he is a qualified buffoon.

I work I the disability field and I assure you I wouldn’t wan’t a greenie in power as they would introduce compulsory euthanasia under the guise of ending suffering. Marxism demands deciding who should live and die and Hitler like the modern day Australian Greens comes from the same root both are socialist party. The Green’s used to be the Maoist Party of Australia and the Nazi Party (NSDAP) national socialist german workers party and the policy towards the disabled as well as the Jews is the same.

  28. Every election, without fail, the Greens posters are the first to go up and the very last to come down (if at all).

For a group ostensibly concerned about the environment, they don’t seem to have a problem trashing it.

  29. @blackmambo: To blackmambo, also in last Federal Election, the green signs (quite a lot) attached on the poles and next to the traffic lights in the interchange at Central Railway Square where the traffic and pedestrian flow is very high, the signs has not pull down until about a month after each election. Now we have State Election coming up, the green signs attached to the poles in same area again.

  33. There was a poster up by Macdonaldtown station yesterday evening for Pip Hinman, the Socialist candidate, it had been there all week. This morning Fiona Byrne was standing in front of where the sign was trying to convince passersbys to boycott the one country in the world that happens to have a Jewish majority and to support the terrorist groups who have sworn to kill all Jews everywhere.

And there was no sign for Pip Hinman. Say what you like about her policies but at least Pip is a local running on local issues.

  34. I used to live in that area and I’m not surprised that there’s this war over posters going on. Right the way up and down King St and Enmore Road every single telegraph pole groaned under the weight of a squillion posters for events about the evils of Israel, capitalism and carbon.

There was also much wacky and often flat out nasty graffiti on walls and footpaths. There was even one charming little red stencil near Stanmore Station that read “Jews: The new Nazis”.

Last time I looked, though, someone had thoughtfully covered it up with a love heart.

It does not reflect well on the people of Marrickville who voted for the disgusting, anti-Israel bigot. I would not care to mix with such people.

  36. easy target those Jews – get rid of them – thus reducing the rights of women, childrens, Indigenous, asians, the disabled, the elderly – good! who needs all them around and equal?
Then Fiona – in her dotage – will truly see the effects of her trashing a whole culture because of the actions of a governement. The neo nazi’s are rising – it is called the GREENS!

  41. Everyone’s familiar with the reference to Israel ‘greening the desert’.

Israel is the ONLY COUNTRY in the WHOLE WORLD, which has more trees today than it did 100 years ago.

You’d think the Greens would actually care about one of, if not the greenest country on Earth.

    They’re not green at all.

  43. “Jewish fundamentalists have displayed severe enmity against Jews who adopt a different sexual life style. Many Israeli rabbis and the Israeli religious political parties in the 1990s reacted sharply against the increased visibility and power of the homosexual and lesbian communities in Israel. According to the Halacha (Jewish religious law), homosexuality is punishable by death by stoning, and, although the punishment is not clear, lesbian relations are forbidden.” (Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel, Shahak & Mezvinsky, 2004, p xviii)

  44. “Rabbis from the religious Zionist community have launched an initiative to marry gay men to lesbian women – with some surprising successes. So far, 11 marriages have been performed… [Rabbi] Harel introduced [Ronni and Etti], and as the first of his gay-lesbian couples, they term themselves ‘guinea pigs’. They are careful to keep up normal appearances before the children and the outside world, even sleeping in the same room, though they don’t sleep together. Their children were born through artificial insemination.” (Israeli rabbis launch initiative to marry gay men to lesbian women, Yair Ettinger, Haaretz, 11/3/11)

  45. “An Israeli umbrella organization encompassing gay and lesbian groups told prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday that ministers in his government are guilty of incitement against the homosexual and transgender community… A Haaretz-Dialog poll has found that nearly half of the Israeli population believe that homosexuality is a perversion. The poll, conducted under Prof. Camil Fuchs, finds that 46% of the people surveyed answered the question ‘Do you see homosexuality as a perversion?’ In the affirmative, while 42% answered that it was not a perversion. Twelve percent said they did not know. The survey also finds that 71% of the ultra-Orthodox population believe homosexuality is a perversion. So do 67% of the religious (Orthodox), 64% of the Arabs, 57% of the Russian speaking immigrants, 44% of the observant (traditional) Jews and 24% of the secular population.” (Gay leaders to Netanyau: Your ministers incite against us, Kosharek, Yaron & Ilani, Haaretz, 6/8/09)

  49. @Anonymous:

Aren’t the Greens the first to label anything disagreeable as “Nazi” or ‘racist’?

Gert Bastion and Petra Kelly formed the Green Party in Germany. Gert was a former Nazi General. Many of the environmental, pagan and eugenic policies of the Greens are actually quite similar to the National Socialists of Germany.

  50. The author of this article and other opponents of Marrickville Council seem to miss the point.
    1. The majority of the council, not just Fiona Byrne, supported the boycott of Isreali goods etc.
    2. The reason clearly is the drive by the current Israli Government to keep grabbing Paletinian land until none is left for its occipants. A land grab and theft pure and simple.
    3. Some commentators here seem quite happy to support theft.Funny sort of morals!

  51. I used to think the Greens were environmentalists, but now I know better. They are just socialists, disguised as trees, racists and bigots disguised as human rights activists, dictators disguised as freedom fighters, compulsory Euthanasia supporters disguised as advocates for sufferers. Why they’re even trying to build a special death camp, I mean hospice.
Who the hell does this woman think she is? Using a local council to push her political ideas. Silly woman if she doesn’t even know that councils only deal with the 3 R’s (Rubbish, Rates and Roads) how is she going to handle the role of the Legislative Council. I think she has shown herself for what she really is, an anti-Jewish, pro-Islamic, bigoted, socialist who has appointed herself head of foreign affairs and would condemn Israel for defending its land whilst opening the floodgates to radical muslims who want to take over our country. I think she has her ambitions mixed up with her capabilities.
