KIWI PATRIOTS: Israel finds new friends in New Zealand

kiwifriendsofisrael A patriotic grouping called Kiwi Friends of Israel has popped up on the other side of the Tasman and is already exposing anti-Israel lunacy in the third territory.

They have already got stuck in to the odious Father Gerard Burns, a Catholic Priest who has been vandalising and desecrating Israeli memorials. The Church has since denounced Burns’s hateful stunt. The pernicious padre led a thousand lefties shouting Allahu Akhbar down to the Yitzhak Rabin Peace Memorial in Wellington and sprayed a memorial to the murdered peace advocate with the priest’s own blood and paint. Kiwi Friends of Israel got the story up with this:

Priest’s desecration of Israeli memorial contemptible

Kiwi Friends of Israel, a newly formed Israeli support group, has called on the Catholic Church distance itself from Fr Gerard Burns, over his desecration of the Wellington Memorial to former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

Fr Burns, the Parish Priest of Te Parisi o te Ngakau Tapu, led over a thousand anti-Israel demonstrators on a march to the Yitzhak Rabin peace memorial in Wellington’s CBD. After addressing the crowd, Fr Burns smeared the memorial to former Prime Minister Rabin with a mixture of blood and paint. An independent account of the march, and photos of Fr Burns throwing paint on the memorial can be found on Scoop.co.nz.

“The Catholic Church should distance itself from this tasteless vandalism and join Kiwi Friends of Israel in calling for a full and unqualified apology from the Priest in question.

“Kiwi Friends of Israel strongly supports the right of all New Zealanders to have a robust debate on the rights and wrongs of Israel’s policies but attacking peace memorials isn’t legimitate behaviour.

“Fr Burns is entitled to his views – however wrongheaded – but he crossed a line when he decided to daub blood and paint on a memorial to the murdered Prime Minister. The desecration is doubly contemptible given Mr Rabin’s lifelong commitment to peace and stability in Israel and Palestine.

“Gerard Burns’ actions are beyond what is acceptable from a community and faith leader. He should apologise for his behaviour and try to voice his political beliefs without vandalising memorials next time,” says the group.

And now the NZ Catholic News is condemning Burns for “defiling” the memorial. The Kiwi Friends of Israel have eloquently attacked the leftist and racist scheme to boycott of Israel with today’s effort, pointing out that a boycott would mean the world would be deprived of Israel’s many advancements, including:

â–  Two of the world’s most widely used multiple-sclerosis drugs, Copaxone and Rebif, developed from research carried out at Weizmann Institute of Science;

â–  A biological control for mosquitoes and black flies that cause malaria and river blindness, saving the sight and lives of millions of people in Africa and China, developed by a scientist at Ben-Gurion;

â–  A highly effective drug Exelon for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia;

â–  Velcade, an effective new cancer drug that treats multiple myeloma, is based on research by two Technion-Israel Institute of Technology professors;

â–  BioPetroClean, developed by Tel Aviv University, a safe environmentally-friendly technology for cleaning oil spills in seas around the globe;

â–  Proneuron Biotechnologies, an Israeli company, is developing a therapy for Parkinson’s with support from the Michael J. Fox Foundation;

â–  An Israeli scientific team from the Technion has succeeded in creating in the laboratory beating heart tissue from human embryonic stem cells;

â–  Researchers at the Hebrew University and the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge have isolated the protein that triggers stress in order to try to treat post-traumatic stress syndrome;

â–  The Pentium NMX Chip was designed at Intel in Israel. Both the Pentium 4 microprocessor and the Centrum processor were designed, developed and produced in Israel;

â–  Most of the Windows operating systems was developed by Microsoft-Israel, as was voice mail technology; and

â–  Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel, attracted by the high quality of engineers.

Israel’s generous gifts to the world compare very favourably indeed to the oil cartel participants and heroin exporters of those countries sworn to its destruction.

Congratulations to the Kiwi Friends of Israel for their early impact on the debate, we wish them continued success.

  1. Well, leftards cant boycott Palestinian goods can they? Because the Palestinians only import their suicide vests, rocket launchers, AK-47’s, explosives etc. I mean, if a lefty wanted to wire up a UN school with explosives, Pali-style, and then use it as a mortar base they’d actually have to get off their lazy arse and travel to Gaza to do it.

  2. That’s not entirely correct.

    The Palestinians have a growing export trade in Jihadism and suicide bombers.

    I’ve been trying to boycott the product as long as I can remember!

  3. I witnessed the protest in Wellington, and I can testify that there was no crowd of ‘a thousand lefties shouting ‘Allahu Akhbar” in attendance. I’m not sure of the purpose of this article, nor of this web site, but such biased, non-objective reporting provides no news, and is severely devoid of any pertinent information.
    One should be ashamed!
