Melton South footy fans banned for racial and rape sledging

The Melton South Football Club is known for a robust attitude to the game among terrified opponents. Two of its fans have been black-banned from the first eight rounds of season 2012 after sledging two aboriginal leaders at a match last year..

One of the charmers involved explained that he “did not racially abuse (Geoff Clark) but did have a go at him about his past,” which it is safe to assume relates to claims of rape made against the once high-profile aboriginal leader.

One sensitively told the Herald Sun:

“If two white people had of got into an argument, none of this would have happened.”

And fondly recalled:

The two men were watching a match against North Ballarat City when one of them labelled an opposition player “a spastic”.
