The election of Barack Obama has been massively and ridiculously over-hyped, with the President-Elect taking time to remind citizens that he isn’t actually President yet at his first press conference. Moreover, to paraphrase an orator he sometimes imitates, he ought be judged not by the colour of his skin but by the content of his policies. But there’s a former White House butler’s story well worth reading today, right through to the end. A story of service, hope and loss. God Bless America.
