UNITY: The faction that’s big enough thanks very much
The Victorian Parliamentary Labor Unity caucus has clearly paid attention to that Marx Bros line about not wanting to join a club that would allow them to join. Or something like that. When ETU aligned upper house MP Shaun Leane went along to join their ranks yesterday, he was made to feel as welcome as a “turd in a spacesuit” according to one observer. Some wonder how sustainable that position will be and what benefits can be gained from restricting the growth of their group. Doesn’t sound very smart at all.
