Dashing Socialist Left Labor Bentleigh MP Rob Hudson surprised colleagues this week from both sides of the chamber by sporting a considerably less grey hair than he appeared to have the last time Parliament sat.
Perhaps the marginal seat holder discovered Inga Peulich’s Fountain of Youth from her days representing Bentleigh. Or more likely had his hairdresser hook him up with a big vat of black stuff.
He’d look better grey say Liberal observers, but at least his taste in bagels is to be commended. We too get our kicks from Glicks.
He surely can’t be stressed about a drubbing in 2010.
Centrebet have already opened a market for the November poll (see below) and have Brumby at $1.14
Little wonder JB’s Chief of Staff Dan O’Brien struts around the Treasury Place precinct in the manner of a confident and splendidly feathered peacock on the lawns of the Shah of Persia.
Will it be a case – as Proverbs reminds us – of pride coming before a fall?

Labor a raging $1.14 to retain power in 2010 Victorian State Election!
John Brumby’s Labor government has opened a red-hot $1.14 favourite with leading election bookmaker Centrebet to retain power when Victoria goes to the polls late next year, with the embattled Coalition a $5.10 outsider!
Centrebet media chief and political analyst Neil Evans said the ALP was in the “biggest box seat” as far as broad political popularity goes, and the pressure on Ted Baillieu to retain his position as Opposition leader is increasing!
“There’s been very little wavering from the Victorian people right from the first approval polls John Brumby faced since taking over from Steve Bracks nearly two years ago,” Evans said. “He and his party had a big gap then, and they’ve probably got an even bigger gap now. There’s no question the Premier’s popularity has ridden along on the back of the bushfire crisis and some major coups, but it seems even controversial moves like deepening Port Phillip Bay’s shipping channels have not tarnished the government’s public standing! I’d be shocked if Ted Baillieu was still in the top Coalition job by November next year.”
Evans said there was widespread interest in the Victorian poll even this far out after Anna Bligh – a $1.65 favourite on Centrebet – became Australia’s first publicly-elected female premier in Qld 10 days ago!

He is just preparing himself for the job market.
Next step is sexing up his resume.
Getting ready for the inevitable in November 2010.
Punters who bet on Bligh (someone called her Bligh the bitch on another blog) were very lucky.
If around 3000 voters in a small number of marginal seats had changed their votes it would have been the Borg and not the Bitch.
A female ALP member out my way told another female ALP member on Facebook that Bligh sounded like a condescending private school phys ed mistress. She’s not wrong.
The Dutch Dentist from Surfers could come even closer next time. They have three year polls in the Pineapple state.
Be good if the dozy fucker lived in his electorate, too. Maybe he went grey from worrying whether the good burghers of Bentleigh would ever find out that he is actually a Northcote resident.
Like Inga, Rob Hudson also wears a G string.
Hers a blue lace; his – red lace.
A post parliamentary career after 2010 will give Rock Hudson, ( oops) I mean Rod Hudson more freedom from the glare of the public eye to pursue all of his interests.
Mine is a chantilly lace XXXXL with a strengthened carbon fibre gusset.
By all accounts the member for bentleigh is a knob!
He is the laziest and most impotent member Bentleigh has ever seen.
He forgets to turn up to appointments and has an aire of superiorness about him.
At least Inga got out there.
But Rob Hudson does have a grass roots presence in Bentleigh.
His office staff stick his “A frame” -with billboard and very dark locks- out on the footpath outside his office every day.
That about sums up his effort for his electorate.
I am always getting out amongst the people, visiting local businesses, especially local businesses that specialise in the production of tasty treats.
And those handsome boys in the local businesses are always trying to snnek a peek up my skirt.
I think Rob Hudson is extremley smart and a lovely man. Stop the whingeing, its all you lot do.
Just because you work for him Sarah.
Rob Hudson is a goner. Polling shows that Bentleigh is swinging back!
You people can be very nasty! You don’t even know him personally.
