JOAN’S MOAN: ALP quotas might cause bitter after-taste

affirmativeaction Rick Wallace’s piece in the Australian on the ALP’s affirmative action caused a bit of chatter around ALP circles.

It was a credit to his abilities to pull a political story out of the system on a very quiet Easter Sunday and indeed provoked a number of discussions among “the comrades.”

Some explain to VEXNEWS that the “quotas” set in place in ALP Rules are in fact “targets” that will be easily dealt with by expanding the meaning of the term “winnable seats” and to rely on the discretion of the National Executive to not disrupt often very delicate preselection arrangements.

VEXNEWS suspects it might not go as easy as this, with Joan Kirner and her comrades at Emily’s List threatening to make quite a lot of noise about Labor not being willing to enforce its own rules in the red pages of the Aged.

  1. Honeys…

Why are so many of the socialist women so adipose and non-fetching?

Seriously – is it this quota thing, or do socialists just eat a lot and fail to look in the mirror whilst grooming?

    Can you tell me why?
