HE’S BAACK: Ken Aldred tries to muster signatures for Deakin nomination

Liberal insiders report that former federal MP Ken Aldred – known for his subscription to nutty anti-semitic conspiracy theories peddled by the Larouchites – has re-emerged as a potential candidate for Liberal preselection for the marginal seat of Deakin.

Crazy Ken was working the phones last night soliciting Party members to sign his nomination form.

Aldred was preselected as the candidate for the then ostensibly marginal seat of Holt for the 2007 election. After public discussion of his publicly-stated views, led principally by our predecessor publication, the Liberal Admin Committee stripped his preselection.

Perhaps they can exclude him before the Deakin preselection becomes a complete joke.

The nominations close today.

  1. I would vote for Peter McMullin in the Liberal preselection for Deakin.

  2. Honeys…

Deakin preselection – LOL uproariously LOL.

Pointless preselection really – as the Conservatives just wont win Deakin in a month of Sundays. It will remain with Labor next time around.

    Really.

  3. As long as Manny doesnt nominate again then Ken has no chance of being selected.
