BARRESI’S BACK: Phil v Mick re-match spite fight in Deakin
Former Liberal MP for Deakin Phil Barresi has nominated for – and is expected to win – party’s preselection for the marginal seat of Deakin, with a margin of 1.5%.
Currently the Industrial Relations Director of the Australian Retailers’ Association, Barresi clearly fondness for the green leather.
Regarded as a highly effective campaigner he was almost literally blasted out of the 2007 contest with an unprecedented campaign spend, coming mainly from Mike Symon’s former employer at the ETU under El Supremo Dean Mighell.
Barresi is unlikely to face a similar level of campaign spend but has of course lost the advantage of incumbency.
Interestingly his opponent Mike Symon was largely elected because of the support he got from those opposing WorkChoices. Despite that, rumour has it that Mike is quite the obnoxious boss around Parliament House, ordering his lackeys about with the contempt only a socialist can muster for his minions.
Barresi by contrast is regarded as a pleasure to work with, a calm, genteel chap who is thoughtful and kind.

Sounds like the liberal party is in trouble if they have to look backwards to useless pondscum like Baressi. Poor old baressi is obviously finding it hard to find a life outside being in government. not as much perks in psychology practice hey?. Baressi the Liberal candidate last time was supported by former Whtiehorse Mayor Peter Allan, perhaps better known for his exotic tastes when visiting Canberra on council business.
When are Peter Allan’s niece Jacinta Allan and his nephew Lyle Allan going to disown him? If they don’t I fear they will both lose their seats at the next state election.

The Concerned Christian Families of Mitcham are very concerned about which Liberal will be their candidate for Deakin at the next election.

I would have thought that the Concerned Christian Families of Mitcham – and their spokesperson Vasan Srinivasan of leafy Forest Hills would have enough on their plate without worrying about Ollie or that cutiepie Dean Mighell.
