IT’S NUTTY: Secrets abound at 104 Exhibition Street closed shop

nuttysecrets The information about candidates for Liberal party preselection is slowly trickling out via VEXNEWS and other outlets.

This secretive approach is causing outrage among the much neglected community of internet gossips and idle speculators who seek to google the identities of candidates and spread the good news of their limitations far and wide.

The Australian today confirmed our previous speculation from the bowels of the internet earlier this week that the disturbing Ken Aldred was nominating in Deakin and threw another name in the mix in the form of Deanne Ryall.

Michelle Grattan had the same yarn indicating perhaps that this was a semi-official drop from Nutty himself. Nice that he’s so sharing. But there are still many secrets left.

Perhaps it’s not just the NSW and Victorian Greens conducting Police checks on the extent of serious criminality among the prospective law-makers.

In all seriousness, a rapidly rising number of Liberal insiders are increasingly concerned that Victorian party director Tony Nutt is keeping secrets completely unnecessarily.

One Liberal informant and long-time staffer very familiar with the party’s customs and practices  told VEXNEWS:

“Tony Nutt is also holding on to the list of State Council nominations. they closed last Friday.  Admin committee members have been given it and told not to distribute it.  Why do they get to see who is challenging them and the rest miss out?”

A fair question.

“Part of reforming the party was to make it more open, seems like a closed shop to me,” the concerned member and experienced staffer pointed out, explaining that a real culture of secrecy has broken out at 104 Exhibition Street since Julian Sheezel’s departure.

“I have worked at 104 Exhibition Street and thought I’d seen everything. It’s getting out of hand.”

  1. The list of candidates for Deakin says a lot about the lack of talented people willing to put their names forward for preselection.

Of the three, one is a nutter, the other is the former member, and third is someone no one has ever heard of.

  3. erm… the list of people running for various positions, including admin, will be pretty clear in the agenda papers, which are not far away. if that’s a culture of secrecy it’s not going to be very effective

  4. Perhaps Peter Allan from Whitehorse (not the respectable Peter from Bendigo who is the father of Jacinta) might be standing. He’d be a good candidate too. Like Billy Hughes he has been a member of every political party that’s around. Now its the turn of the Libs.
