Sanctimonious Sean Spencer, a preachy self-described “defender of the working class” and leader of the “Respect the West” pro Greens party front group operating in Melbourne’s western suburbs has revealed exploitative and cynical views about women and his intention to obtain a “mail order bride” from Eastern Europe.
CONTEMPT FOR WOMEN
Secret screen-grabs obtained by VEXNEWS taken by an outraged associate from Sean Spencer’s private Twitter page show the lonely and divorced Buddhist militant remarked this morning:
When it comes to choosing a mail order bride – which country is now the best option? Borat ruined Kazakhstan for me – perhaps Russia?
Spencer who includes Greens party members Colleen Harland, Janet Rice and lefty militant Stephen Jolly as his Facebook friends, was also one of the political operatives involved in affluent Les Twentyman’s dismally unsuccessful bid for Kororoit in last year’s by-election that still has lefty blow-hards whining about the cruel injustice of electoral defeat. Despite being talked up by some in the press and 3AW to a bizarre degree, Spencer’s ultra-left anti-Labor candidate received a mere 20.6% of the vote.
RACISTS
Spencer is also involved in running the notorious Anglo-dominated front groups “Respect the West” and its parent company “Sunshine Residents and Ratepayers Association” whose active membership is lucky to crack the half-dozen but still enjoys favourable attention from naive or agenda-pushing journalists at The Age and even at Ted Baillieu’s office.
Spencer’s SunRRA group maintains a website replete with allegations against “ethnics”, racial insults and has even published pornography alongside the name of female opponents. Some of this hate-material was removed, but only after legal threats and Police intervention. Interestingly, Spencer professes on his social networking pages to be a “Buddhist”. Perhaps he’s in a sect that wears white Klan outfits rather than orange robes.
“WHAT A TOTAL PIG!”
Western suburbs community activists speaking on condition of anonymity to VEXNEWS expressed dismay and disgust at Spencer’s remarks and plan to exploit economically disadvantaged women to satisfy his lust.
“I can’t believe he’s said it, to be honest. What a total pig,” one exclaimed on hearing about Spencer’s comments.
“Mail order bride” is usually considered an offensive and degrading term that involves men in wealthy countries selecting an intended wife from a printed or online “catalogue” of poor women usually from developing countries.
Many critics have been concerned that this practice can amount to human trafficking, the commodification of women, sexual slavery and many other forms of abuse and exploitation.
There have been many instances where “mail order brides” have been the victim of physical attacks, including murder.
It is a huge industry with the US government estimating [pdf] that as many as 150,000 women are advertised online annually – effectively for sale – as mail order brides.
They note with concern academic studies that have concluded “those who have used the mail-order bride route to find a mate have control in mind rather than a loving and enduring relationship.”
UPDATE:

Sean Spencer appears to have been rather embarrassed by being caught out by a VEXNEWS informant on his scandalous plans to betrothe and exploit a woman from eastern Europe as his sex slave/”mail order bride” and has destroyed his “Respectthewest” twitter account to avoid further shame. Sadly for him, that informant has retained the many other files and dubious statements he made for and on behalf of that group to be used at a later date…
OMG – some-one wrote something politically incorrect on their Twitter and Facebook pages – that has SOOOOO never happened before. Think I’ll have a Bex and a lie down.
Media Release
FROM THE MINISTER FOR CORRECTIONS
DATE: Tuesday, January 13, 2004
DOYLE BACKS AWAY FROM ANOTHER DALLA-RIVA STUFF-UP
Opposition leader Robert Doyle has confirmed another stuff-up by his Corrections spokesman Richard Dalla-Riva – this time on the placement of maximum security prisoners.
Mr Doyle today refused to defend the ludicrous proposition put forward by Mr Dalla-Riva that one of two men guilty of killing police officers should be moved out of the state’s maximum security long term jail – Barwon Prison.
Instead, Mr Doyle decided to side with the Government’s decision that the two prisoners would remain in Barwon Prison, but held in separate units.
This morning on ABC radio, Mr Dalla-Riva called for:
“One at Barwon, which is a maximum security prison, and one at Port Phillip Prison which is also a maximum security prison.”
Yet later in the day, Mr Doyle told AAP:
“I am not suggesting we move them to different jails, it is obvious that both should be in our highest security prison, but within that prison they must be kept separate.”
The two prisoners, currently in solitary confinement, will be moved to different secure units of cells within Barwon Prison, once they have completed their term in solitary confinement.
Corrections Victoria has advised that it would be inappropriate to move either of the prisoners out of Barwon Prison to Port Phillip Prison, as Barwon is the state’s only long term maximum security prison, while Port Phillip is largely a remand and short stay facility.
Mr Haermeyer said Mr Dalla-Riva’s latest stuff-up highlighted that he was just not up to the job and called on the Opposition to take Corrections seriously.
“The Liberal Party went to the last election without a Corrections policy,” Mr Haermeyer said.
“Now it’s clear the Opposition’s semi-shadow minister / spokesman who has simply failed to grasp the basics of corrections.
“The Opposition clearly does not take Corrections seriously.”
Other stuff-ups by Mr Dalla-Riva over the past year include:
- 29 December, 2003: Mr Dalla-Riva claimed home detention would permit “hardened criminals . . . to roam the streets”. WRONG. Home detention will only be open to offenders who pose a low risk to the community and have not been found guilty of sex offences, violence, breach of intervention orders, commercial drug trafficking, firearms and weapons offences and stalking.
- 11 June, 2003: Mr Dalla-Riva claimed prisons were overcrowded and running above capacity. WRONG. Prisons are running at about 90 per cent capacity and the Government has added 600 new beds to the system. The Government’s $334.5 million Corrections Long Term Management Strategy, which is delivering a net gain of more than 1000 new permanent beds to the prison system, with new prisons at Beechworth, Lara and Ravenhall.”
- 21 September 2003: In a media release Mr Dalla-Riva claimed that a prisoner who escaped from Won Wron Prison earlier in September was still at large. WRONG. The prisoner was re-apprehended on September 14.
- 11 June, 2003: Mr Dalla-Riva claimed recidivism rates were rising. WRONG. Recidivism rates leapt by 8.58 percentage points for prisoners sent to jail in the last three years of the former government. The Bracks Government has begun to reverse this, bringing down the recidivism rate by 0.69 percentage points in 2001/02.
Scandal a mess from the start

BY the time Richard Dalla-Riva woke yesterday to read the latest coverage of his sexual harassment scandal, his time had run out.
The Liberals’ former scrutiny of government spokesman had lost the support of key backers.
By Sunday night, senior Liberals were concerned that Mr Dalla-Riva had failed to give a full and frank version of events of his night out with a teenager and the days that followed.
“It was less than impressive,” a senior Liberal said of Mr Dalla-Riva’s behaviour.
Mr Dalla-Riva visited Liberal leader Ted Baillieu at his Spring St office soon after 9am yesterday, where the fallout of the scandal was discussed.
In his official statement, Mr Dalla-Riva said he had resigned.
The pressure was growing to such an extent he may well have been sacked anyway.
On the steps of Parliament at 10.20am, Mr Baillieu was clear about his concerns when he spoke of Mr Dalla-Riva’s behaviour. “At the time I sought some assurances and on the basis of those assurances, I made the comments I made last week,” Mr Baillieu said.
“Now I have had a discussion with Richard this morning that leads me to believe that I can’t rely on those assurances in terms of the details of this matter.”
The unedited story of what happened last year may never be known.
Mr Dalla-Riva, who appeared shaken yesterday, pointedly failed to address the issue of the text message or messages.
What is known is that the 18-year-old at the centre of the sexual harassment complaint wants to protect her reputation.
The Herald Sun has been provided with several versions of what happened about a year ago when Mr Dalla-Riva, now 43, compromised his career.
Informed sources have said the married father of three and the woman attended three different locations before he dropped her off about 4am in Doncaster, believed to be at a friend’s house. During the night, Mr Dalla-Riva is said to have made inappropriate comments.
The following day, Mr Dalla-Riva allegedly sent at least one text message to the teenager.
Sources claimed the text was not necessarily of a sexual nature, but continued a pattern of behaviour that had riled the teenager’s father.
She had told her father about Mr Dalla-Riva’s behaviour. It was her father who called then Liberal leader Robert Doyle’s office, where the matter was handled by a junior staff member before being sent up the chain of command.
Mr Dalla-Riva has denied sexually harassing the girl but accepted she was of the view that she had been sexually harassed. By April, after a mediator was brought in by Mr Doyle, a confidentiality agreement was signed by Mr Dalla-Riva and the woman.
A source familiar with the night in question said the partying started in Forest Hill at a Liberal fundraiser and progressed to two hotels in the Doncaster area.
The scandal was kept so secret that even senior Liberal figures attached to the party’s Exhibition St headquarters were unaware of it until they read it in the Herald Sun last week.
There were rumours around election time that Mr Dalla-Riva could be facing some strife. Most people had no idea what the rumours meant — until now.
Oh just f_ck off with the RDR stuff…..what a snooze.
Sean is a racist pig!! is he fit to work in hospitals?
I am more than happy to give the young ladies from Eastern Europe a ‘lift’ in my car. Remember my motto though young ladies “No Root No Ride”.
we already know RDR is a total tool, so buzz off back to obsessive central, you irritating little tit
Andrew,
Can I suggest that you consider snipping the repetitive drivel of these persistent trolls from your Comments section.
Maybe the trolls should spend ten minutes setting up their own blog or website rather than having this parasitical attachment to yours.
RDR, f_ck off (though I suspect this is some long running joke, it remains very annoying).
Re the twitter thing- are you serious, I mean come on- it’s a twitter. Its witless and unfunny but he is clearly having a go at humor so give him a break.
P.S- what was the answer… just asking.
If he just attended to personal grooming (and perhaps hygiene) doubtless he’d have more luck with the local ladies. Meantime a friend had better warn him that many of the overseas heartthrobs are superannuated hookers.
OMG! Vexnews musn’t have much to report today. This is the most pathetic story for a long time…… hardly vexNEWS worthy.
(and I totally agree with getting rid of the RDR stalker….someone is a little too obsessed…get a life).
Do mail order brides come wrapped in bubble wrap? Do they puncture little holes in their crates so they can breath on the trip over? Or could you just post one with the stamps on their forehead?
To “There is something wrong on VEXNEWS, ie you” | July 1, 2009, 15:37, why is it a snooze?
Why is RDR’s completely inappropriate behaviour a ’snooze’?
Why is RDR’s incompetence in his portfolio a ’snooze’?
Are you suggesting that, if a man sexually harasses a young girl, and then lies to his leader about it, it is just a ’snooze’ and there are more important things to worry about?
Are you suggesting that, if that same man is not up to speed with his real work, that is also a ’snooze’, and there are more important things to worry about?
The people deserve better. They should not be let down. They should not be allowed to forget.
I am a more toey than a Roman Sandal tonight, do any young ladies require a lift home?
This is a ridiculous story that once again highlights your own prejudices and vendettas rather than anything actually being done that is remotely newsworthy.
Sean Spencer has no place in representing the community if he hates women to this extent.
Very interesting he removed his Twitter page after VexNews revealed his misogyny.
VexNews names and shames another. The removal of the page shows how Spencer knows he has been caught out.
“This is a ridiculous story that once again highlights your own prejudices and vendettas rather than anything actually being done that is remotely newsworthy.”
Since when has anything written here been newsworthy?
Oh boo hoo greentard.

Misogynist Hypocrite Buddhist 0
It fascinates me how truly childish some of stories and comments are on this blog. So some guy wrote something trite on Twitter. Big deal, that’s not news. So some twerp thinks that cutting a pasting into every story posted on VexNews the same boring blah blah blah about a Victorian politician he doesn’t like is clever. That is not news. It’s very boring, dull, petulant and frankly self-defeating because it turns people off and makes them feel sorry for RDR – whoever he is.
There have been some great stories on VexNews. This is not one of them.
The issue addressed in today’s Australian – Robert Manne’s analysis that mind numbing bureaucracy and obsessive conformity to procedures in the CFA and DSE contributed to the Black Saturdaytragedy can be extrapolated to many other areas of our society, including ‘newsworthiness’ and ‘journalism’.
Ok so Sean Spencer’s idiocy isn’t as high profile or as important as other issues – so what its still significant and worth exposing.
People like Spencer and the Greens fuel our community’s oppression by well meaning middle class ‘nice people’ who think that as long as everyone is nice, no one is offended, no one feels excluded, there is no serious disagreement over anything then everything is well.
Of course this is nonsense – how can there be real debate over important issues, tough decisions made, leadership taken by and on behalf of the community if ‘niceness’ is seen as an end in itself?
Sean Spencer and the Greens constantly lecture in their unxious self righteous tones – therefore Vex’s timely exposure of Spencer’s tasteless, tacky and nasty hypocrisy is more than appropriate.
I always knew there was something wrong with a closet Lib who ‘respects’ the west
Andrew, Can you delete all the irrelevent RDR comments. Its making the comments sections of your aticles a pain in the arse to read.
Robert Manne and the various Counsel assisting the Royal Commission would shit themselves if caught in a fire. Yet these blithering idiots are suddenly experts. I served CFA for over 20 years. No fires are the same. The pontifications of Manne and the grossly overpaid legal muck ‘assisting’ the commission were misinformed and needs some form of community rejection.
Who is Ruchard Dulla Reva?
RDR is Rat Dog Riva. He is what is wrong with Victoria.
RDR is indeed what is wrong with Victoria, especially Eastern Metro Region. Get rid of RDR.
RDR is an fine, upstanding, citizen. He has the full support of the Concerned Christian Families of Mitcham.
It is hardly a crashing shock that ‘everyone’ is suddenly an expert in the aftermath of a disaster.
What’s emerging from the Commission confirms that Victoria has an extraordinary professional, altruistic and professional citizen fire-fighters in CFA volunteers. It is should be no meaningless cliche to say we can all be very proud of that.
Equally we shouldn’t be cowed by our admiration from observing the other theme emerging from the Royal Commission – that the managers, well paid ‘professional’ hierarchy of the CFA are about as competent as Dad’s Army or the match committee of a small town footy club.
Nor should we be succumb to the traditional aussie attitude of either you are a good bloke or your very competent but never the twain shall meet. When it comes to putting out fires I think we need some good blokes who are elitist when it comes to their profession.
HAHA. Hello everyone, this is a joke! Wow, these comments make me laugh so hard. By the way, I know this guy. Hes very political, but that is just his humor. Get over it? Dont tell me this has NEVER happened before.
I can vouch for the daughters of Concerned Christian Families of Mitcham that they bang like a dunny door in a storm. It’s always the religous ones that do:/
