TSK TSK: Sunbury Leader journalists admit fabricating news photograph, deny further involvement in "Liberation Front"

Last week, we exposed an outer-suburban Melbourne local newspaper’s publication of a photograph that claimed to include three members of the Sunbury Liberation Front. We revealed that two of three people in the photograph – who were described as members of the Front -were journalists working in that publication.

This week, the Sunbury Leader has responded admitting that two of its journalists posed in the photograph but now deny being members of the organisation. They also deny writing or being otherwise involved in the SLF.

sunburyliberationapology To their credit while the original story with faked-up photograph ran on page five, their “clarification” ran this week on page three. It didn’t, though, name the journalists Andrew Jefferson, the Sunbury Leader’s editor and George Ierodiacounou who appeared in the photographs, posing as members of an organisation they were reporting on.

  1. These are the kind of disgraceful antics that Richard Dalla Riva would get involved in.

  2. Are you still continuing with this bizarre obsession with RDR. I thought he was on par with most of the morons in the Liberal Party anyway.

  3. Comments straying way off topic with various obsessions, like the ubiquitous ‘… RDR’ and ‘who am I?’ trolls. Unlike ‘Dr Dean’ they’re not even remotely funny.
