RED TED: Liberal leader orders his troops to march on Brumby’s Harmony Day, some not impressed

redtedboogieVictorian Liberal Leader Ted Baillieu has instructed all members of his parliamentary team to attend the Premier’s Harmony Day march to celebrate multiculturalism which starts this Sunday at 1pm.

Some of them have told the Leader’s office they’re less than impressed with being told what should be on their busy schedule, particularly at the last minute.

The left-wing press will be carefully monitoring who attends and who doesn’t, VEXNEWS understands. More conservative members of the Liberal party room who regard promoting multiculturalism as political correctness might decline to submit to Baillieu’s authority on the issue.

The Harmony Walk starts at Carlton Gardens at 1 pm on Sunday 12 July and proceed through Melbourne’s central business district to Federation Square.

  4. If he were a plant, Red Ted would surely represent the greatest deep-cover infiltration operation ever in Australian politics.

  7. this is another diversion by Brumby to appease the indian and Chinese community over the bashings. Why doesnt he get his henchman Hulls to get the judges in order that would be a good multicultural start.
Wait till the 20th July the fun starts then and Hulls will feel it

  11. Ted is unelectable, but at least there are not speeches on Hansard outlining criminal behaviour by him, like there are for Julian Sheezel.

  12. To not march on Harmony Day is to betray the Menzies Legacy.

Ted – can I bring my tiger along as well?

Ted – you do remember me don’t you?

  13. The Federation of Indian Students have announced they are boycotting this event. They are smarter than Ted.

  14. It would be interesting to know the political backgrounds of the leadership team of the Federation of Indian Students. If they spat the dummy because they believe they should have the racial discrimination issue all to themselves, then they should be scrutinised closely.

  15. When will Ted listen to the Liberal rank and file. Multiculturalism was and still is an ALP vote buying stunt that is creating a divisive Australia. So is Ted in the correct political scene.

  16. Ted looks like he is engaged in a life or death struggle with an unusually large stool.

  17. Whatever he does, Ted is irrelvant.

  18. There’s a state election in 16 months time – but you wouldn’t realise it if you were to watch Ted’s “soft” approach to politics.

  19. Ted will lose – everyone knows it.

The Liberal Party would be better off refusing to fund a party based election campaign at the State level. Instead it could encourage all of its State members to run as independent liberals giving them some money to run their own campaigns.

It would put the ALP in a fix though in Government they could pick some of the better independent libs to enter the cabinet – like what is done in the USA.

The overall Lib vote might pick up as people will actually support non-party tied independents.

The Liberal Party could focus its funds on the federal scene, where at least it has a chance.

  20. You’ve got to be joking. This site can have its low points, but you are taking it to another depth devid of intelligence or political nous.

  24. Yes well J-Rat knows Scott Ryan and Bernie Finn. Wouldn’t they have fun down there in Werribee? Especially if J-Rat stays in Malvern.

  26. That’s it. Arrogant Red Ted should be replaced by the National’s Peter Ryan. After all, Ryan is not the toff from Toorak who sold Victorian schools through Baillieu Knight Frank.
