PROUD TO BE RIGHT: VEXNEWS forecasts proven correct once more over Wannon battle

VEXNEWS is first with the news. On June 24, we revealed Victorian Liberal party deputy director Daniel Tehan was planning to run for Liberal preselection in Wannon, although there a bit of a stink about whether a conflict of interest might arise between his duties and his candidacy.

A couple of weeks later, the Warrnambool Standard reports that the Melbourne based Dan the Man has announced his intention to run for Wannon and has even resigned from his job at 104 Exhibition Street in order to take it on.

  1. I won’t be voting for him.

  2. I will be voting for him.

  3. While Dan will have trouble finding Wannan, at least he does not have three drink driving convictions like Louise Staley.

  4. I will be voting for him – Go Dan.

  5. What, is Lulu the same kind of driver as Fifi? What else do they have in common?

    Posted by Cancerous Cell | July 12, 2009, 1:07
  6. Cancerous Cell, Fi Fi & Lu Lu both jugle to drive with a full tank of petrol, so to speak. In fairness to Louise though, she did not assault the cops when she was arrested as the Age reported Fiona did.

  7. I can say from my experience Cancerous Cell, they are both hopeless in the sack.

  8. This will really put the new reforms to the test. 7 hour preselections are simply unsustainable, especially for a seat like Wannon. And with 9 candidates, and with no real stand-outs, this will go for much longer than 7 hours.

  9. I am the man for Wannon.
I was nearly the man for Corangamite.
I only spent 5 years getting every one on side and a woman beats me in 6 weeks.
I have a lot in common with Wannon, I have a farm of 10 hectares and live outside the electorate.
Yes I am the man for all seats any time any where!
    does anyone want the man!

  10. Crockles, we meet again on the preselection trail. Once more, you will defeat me. This time I don’t have the benefit of the Bevilicious faction. My claim to Wannon is worse than your’s!

  12. I bet none of you even know Proce or Nockles. AND…light horse, i bet you don’t get a vote in Wannon like i do.

  18. Big Horse,

There are good candidates in Wannon IF you look closely and take more notice.

    Posted by Dark Horse | July 14, 2009, 21:29
  19. There is one Ok candidate – Dan Tehan, about 17 ordinary candidates, and one disgusting candidate.

    Posted by Light Horse | July 14, 2009, 21:46
  20. hahaha who is the disgusting one?

If i were you i’d look over the ones you think are ‘average’, I assure you your man will not win.

    Posted by Dark Horse | July 14, 2009, 21:58
  21. WHo are you backing then, my dark brother?

    Posted by Light Horse | July 14, 2009, 22:04
  22. I think light horse is on the winning side, as told by Andrew Rixon

It has been announced that Daniel Tehan is running for the Federal Seat of Wannon. Okay Andrew knows Daniel, not that well but well enough to shack hands. I’ve had a number of dealings with him during the pre-selection campaign, and I would like to add that he has always been very professional in the way he handles himself. Okay to cut straight to the point Daniel WILL win the pre-selection, that said I didn’t say he’d win the seat it self as the Liberal Party are about to find out.

Meaning that for every action there’s are reaction!!!.

  23. you know what would be awesome? if we did some three-way deal in the Gadens boardroom so that Michael Gidley ends up as the member for Wannon … that would be the best

    Posted by yibbida yibbida | July 14, 2009, 22:54
  24. Dan is not the best industrial relations lawyer in the country … just ask J-rat

    Posted by Proscuitto | July 14, 2009, 23:03
  25. That can be arranged…..

Posted by Dan The Man | July 14, 2009, 23:25
  26. that would be awesome Dan … i loved that day, when we all sat around and laughed evilly [muahahaha] and smoked cigars and patted ourselves on teh back on our machiavellian we were and how we ruled the town with computer contracts and preselections and then both gidley and doyle lost anyway … and i disapeared .. but still, totally worth it

    Posted by yibbida yibbida | July 14, 2009, 23:30
  27. I disagree … it wasn’t really worth it for me … i kinda wish i was the member for scoresby right now … what scoresby people need is a fella in a canary yellow knit representing them

    Posted by Giddy Up | July 14, 2009, 23:41
  28. yeah it wasn’t really worth it for me either …

    Posted by Cheezel | July 14, 2009, 23:41
  29. it was totally worth it for me … i went back to the nous head office and office and scored with debra after i told her about it

    Posted by Fatty Doyle | July 14, 2009, 23:42
  30. it was worth it for me .. and i didnt even have to do anything … and i still dont do anything

    Posted by Whodat | July 14, 2009, 23:44
  31. me neither … i love it when everything works out in your favour, and you dont even have to lift a finger … i love you Cossie

  32. Things looked so rosy then. Gidley was going to win Mt Waverley, my pal J-Rat was going to get Higgins.

Now things are not so good.

Tony Nutt no longer asks me to proof read Admin Committee and State Assembly minutes.

Shame. At partner’s rates it was the easiest engagement I had.

Posted by Dan The Man | July 14, 2009, 23:50
  33. Yeah I had a pretty sweet engagement too. All that money, and all for the worst website on the net since victor perton’s human rights e-blog … you know, i dont even know how to turn on a modem

  34. I think after the third or fourth attempt I will defeat Maxine.

of course, everyone knew i meant catching up for hot chocolate, its not my fault if you all misundertood

    Posted by RDR | July 15, 2009, 0:41
  37. Dan’s brother had nothing to do with it. I slagged off RDR to the media about Byrne Baby Burn and the SMS.

    Posted by Rivers | July 15, 2009, 0:55
  38. Does Jake the Snake know Sasa McMurray?

    Posted by Anonski | July 15, 2009, 1:06
  39. I huffed and puffed and couldnt get traction.

Dan T you wont win Wannon. If you dont come from the place you have no legitimacy. You drive all over the place and spend weeks in peoples home ………..you wont win.

    Just ask me!

    Posted by Rod Crockles | July 15, 2009, 10:14
  40. I meant “hot chocolate”.

    Posted by RDR | July 15, 2009, 10:24
  41. LOL.

You outsiders can dream about who will be the next member for Wannon all you want. Until you live within the electorate, know ALL the candidates, the exec, and most of the members…i doubt you really have any influence over who will be pre selected.

    Posted by Dark Horse | July 15, 2009, 12:43
  42. Giddy Up…you keep dreaming!
I heard your young turks in Mt Waverley are ditching you faster than rats on the titanic! Even your wider faction is searching for alternative candidates for preselection.

  43. my vote is for DAN
    HIS biggest threat is MITChell
Dan could be a capable minister in the next turnbull led liberal parliament

  44. WANNON THIS WEEKEND! Can’t wait! Nev, Dan’s biggest threat is himself. He keeps stumbling when asked about his leadership skills. Telling slightly amusing anecdotes won’t hide his lack of experience. Fact is he doesn’t have any real world leadership skills except for being head prefect at school and deputy director at 104 for two minutes before deserting ship as soon as a better offer came along in Wannon. Don’t discount Hugh Koch, he has been going about his business very quietly, targeting the little old ladies of Wannon and doing a very good job at it…. and some gossip, my little birdie at 104 tells me that Lou Lou was hauled over the coals after several complaints that she was seriously backstabbing Tehan, Price Mitchell & Koch to same little old ladies.. Busted… Not very sporting either.. She now knows she has lost and is wondering whether to turn up on Sunday… true..
