TWU v NUW: The long war continues

An informant advises: Our friends at the TWU think Tony Sheldon has popped a cork. One of their officials – who still speaks to one of our guys, said that at an Officials meeting the other day, chaired by Tony Sheldon, they all had to sign “pledges” of loyalty to the TWU and part of the pledge referred to all officials actively “working against the interests of the National Union of Workers”. Sounds quite nutty. It was noticed by all that Sheldon did not look well and seemed to be obviously distracted.

  1. Tony Sheldon is off his rocker. It may be a guilty complete from screwing his members for years.

  2. He should go to QLD and work for the NUW up there. It’s a nursing home for failed TWU hacks. He might even end up in the Senate

  3. The twu have now begun laying off some of their longest serving loyalist officals and officers. three last friday alone and several more put on notice. this is how the twu repay loyalty. after losing 1.6 million dollars of members moneylast year protecting the leadership, they are busy slashing the officials to make up the coin. how far does this union have to fall before they realise they have to change their leadership.

  6. It would be funny if the situation was not so bad at the twu. I talk to officials who say that they cannot keep up with the workload dished on them, they have no support from the twu boss’ and they are being forced to carry the workload of the “politicans” who work there. We lost our best and brightest in last years split and the place is now a shell. A lot of us feel we cannot get out of this rut. There is as much time spent on witch hunts than looking after the members.

  7. The TWU is another good example of why unions are dying. Corrupt, incompetent and lazy, they squander members’ money and arrange cozy deals with companies. Workers don’t need unions – they need protection from them.

  8. Why is Scott Connelly listed as a “national airlines official” and TWU Executive Officer (Queenland) AS WELL AS the Secretary of the ACT Sub Branch? Isn’t this in breach of the TWU Federal rules? I’d say it is also in breach of the TWU NSW/ACT Rules.

Do any TWU members care about this?

  13. The TWU in NSW are by far the most dodgy bunch of jerkoffs you’ll find anywhere.

They have been caught with the slush funds..deals with bosses and pollie….expect the worse from them on every level.
