Melbourne’s free chocolate dispensing newspaper of the left, The Age has caused considerable merriment by offering sugar laced inducements to those few Victorians still buying the newspaper at a newsagent.
But while they’ve been preparing to serve up the Saturday sweets, a row has developed over its front-page coverage this week of Victoria Liberal leader Ted Baillieu.
Despite usually being supportive of the bloke, David Rood dropped him in it by quoting three unnamed patriot Liberal backbenchers who’d had a gutful of His Redness.
Today, Baillieu’s chum at The Age Paul Austin tried to mollify the savage beast by attacking those who attacked Ted for engaging in “self-harm”.
A little melodramatic but that’s what can go on when love is on the rocks. Aint such a sweet surprise.
But the row to which we refer arises from Rood’s rude story in the first place.
One patriotic media source who declined to be named pointed out to VEXNEWS that Rood has very blatantly rehashed and possibly invented a quote.
They encouraged us to compare:
“The considered view is there are two camps in the party at the moment,” one MP said. “One that thinks it’s stuffed and can be redeemed and another that thinks it’s stuffed and irredeemable.” – D Rood The Age October 20th
“The bad news is that the biggest split in his party room at the moment is between those who think he is terminal and those who argue that with major surgery his leadership can still be saved.” – J Campbell Sunday Herald Sun August 23rd
“Journalists” inventing quotes – no, never! The media is an honourable lot who would never do such a thing!
For an ex-copper, Richard Della-Riva exposing himself to a teenage girls complaints of harassment is truly sickening.
Lol so which Labor MP do you work for ‘there is something wrong in Victoria and its Richard Della-Riva’?
Telmo Languillar.
The words “petard” and “hoisted” spring immediately to mind.
The Age!
Never a more deserving case for assistance.
I am on my way…….
