PARTY HARD: Photios photo furore freaks out factional foes

Peace and love within the NSW Liberal Right was optimistically declared between young upstart federal MP Alex Hawke and his one-time mentor David Clarke this past weekend.

And one of them has launched an attack on Liberal Lefty Michael Photios suggesting at least one patriot is keen to resume more traditional hostilities.

Appalled by the outlandish behaviour of the former Liberal MP told VEXNEWS:

Photios should practice what he preaches, and keep his mouth shut and not comment to tabloid journalists about his private life…

They claim the Liberal party is in “damage control” after images of the flamboyant party-fiend Mr Photios caused concern across the party. They pointed to the contrasting standards applied to the flamboyant Photios and other party members who’ve been threatened with expulsion if they talk to the press.

Photios, hypocritically, supports the tough approach. But he doesn’t want to live up to the same standards to avoid the party being dragged into disrepute, a NSW Liberal Right source claimed.

They say it is well known that Mr Photios and numerous other people supported measures designed to silence the ordinary membership of the party, and place absolute power in the hands of a select few.

“And the proof is in the pudding, while ordinary members can’t speak out, senior Liberals like this bloke are allowed to flaunt the rules and show absolute contempt for the rules he implemented. It seems Photios and a number of people see themselves as bigger than the party, and also see themselves as above the rules.

He continued:

“It looks very bad for the Liberal party when you have a Vice President of the party portraying a party boy image, he’s 49 for crying out loud!”
“He makes both Corey Delaney and Paris Hilton look pale in comparison with his party boy image.”
“I wonder if Max Markson is interested in signing this bloke up to a multi-million dollar contract to attend the Sydney A-list circuit, or does Barry (O’Farrell) want him back serving the people of NSW as clown prince?”

The forty-nine year father of three was recently featured in the Daily Telegraph in photos with a young lady, 23 while posing in a sexually suggestive way for the paparazzi at a recent corporate event.

“While ordinary members of the rank-and-file are silenced and threatened for speaking to the media, people like Photios turn themselves into a tasty media tart,” the concerned rival asserted.

  6. as a right winger from a different state, Photios, whom I’ve met, strikes me as a charming, intelligent and dynamic bloke. He is pro-business and his private life is irrelevant since he is not a parliamentarian.

He is the sort of person the Party needs on its side. For the outside, NSW factional brawls look so childish, serving no purpose to the goal of not just winning government but keeping it too.

    Grow up, NSW LIBS!!!!!!

  11. Oh my god. Not again…

Every time one of you neanderthals decides to leak God kills a kitten.

It makes the NSW Liberals look like a pack of fools.

Also, how the fuck does this have anything to do with Photios violating Liberal party views regarding speaking to the press? He’s not a parliamentarian, nor is he vying for preselection.

I can only hope we find out who you lot are and slap the banhammer on you so hard you’ll have to join the CDP in order to get even within a whiff of a Parliamentary gig.

Come on guys is there no line you guys won’t cross while debating and discussing?

My stance on Global Warming is (even though this has nothing to do with the article), if Global Warming is proven then we should adopt an ETS that is cheap and effective, none of which describes Rudd’s ETS.

I doubt the science of Climate Change, 30,000 Scientists and Reviewers are suing Al Gore for fraud over his claims. Some of the most respected scientists have claimed that believers have not applied proper scientific processes, the Hockey Stick: Used to graph the increase in temperatures have been proven to be false by the whole scientific community, yet skeptics are villified and forced to keep quiet about their findings.

Estimates put ETS costs at $800 billion world wide. Which is fine considering the consequences, but I want to be damn sure if before we put this massive tax on us all.

  51. In case you missed Alan Jones this morning you might like to read some more of his wise words.

Just on the Liberal Party this 32-year-old member for Mitchell Alex Hawke has got himself into the news again. The argument being there has been a fallout between him and David Clarke. David Clarke is the Liberal Upper House MLC in the New South Wales parliament. I don’t know either of them but if you had to make a choice as to who you would like to meet I would take David Clarke any day.

David Clarke has said I don’t believe the Internet should be used as a licence for people to make anonymous allegations against others without them having to accept legal responsibility for what they say. I wonder how that applies to Alex Hawke?

This is a fellow who has developed bikie gang tactics in Liberal Party politics in NSW. He pretends he is the injured party and that he has nothing to do with it but I have a file here you could jump over of young people making statutory declarations testifying to the disgraceful behaviour of this fellow Hawke who will vilify and defame anyone he doesn’t like in the party and organise in the most undemocratic way numbers for people whose fawning support he enjoys.
There is apparently some bloke called Farlow, Scott Farlow who is one of the team and this bloke Alex Hawke is in the Federal parliament and the Liberal Party are seeking government in New South Wales.

Barry O’Farrell needs to get active here and Malcolm Turnbull as well. I repeat, the behaviour of this fellow Alex Hawke is now at last being exposed. He is a cancer on the Liberal Party in New South Wales and here he is in a weekend story in the Sun Herald where Mr Hawke claims he has calmed down and that becoming and MP has made him more moderate. Who does the bloke think he is kidding? I repeat, from the material in front of me, sent to me by people in the Liberal Party to frightened to speak out, because under Liberal Party rules if you speak out against anything in the Party they will expel you. How democratic is that ?

And, the President of the Party, this fellow Nick Campbell is supposedly a support of Alex Hawke. This is not an ethnic purge but a factional purge of the Liberal Party that threatens to derail Barry O’Farell. I have said many times and I will say it again – there is only one way for this to be stopped and that is the preselection of this fellow Hawke for the seat of Mitchell to be withdrawn sooner rather than later.

There is a postscript to that by the way and the Liberal Party in New South Wales. Paul Sheehan, the distinguished journalist wrote a piece yesterday that appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald about one Michael Towke and his preselection by the Liberal Party in July 2007 for the Liberal seat of Cook to replace the then outgoing member Bruce Baird. So, this fellow Towke was preselected. Paul Sheehan writes that from that point on the Lebanese Australian was attacked in the media with leaks from, as Paul Sheehan says, two senior people from within the Liberal Party whose identity is known to a widening circle within the party. And, as Paul Sheehan writes, News Ltd newspapers went after him, this bloke Towke.

In Paul Sheehan’s words “leaks and spears”. The result: a second ballot was ordered and Scott Morrison won the seat. Towke, for all that had been written about him in Paul Sheehan’s words was portrayed as a serial liar and an exaggerator took News Ltd to court for the stories written about him where he disputed every imputation as factual evidence. According to Paul Sheehan shortly before the matter ended in court this month Nation Wide News paid and settled. Paul Sheehan writes that it is telling that experienced Telegraph journalists appear to have based their stories on sources they trusted, suggesting those doing the leaking, this is from within the Liberal Party, were both senior figures and seasoned in dealing with the media. He ends his piece yesterday by saying that two years later Towke’s honour has been restored, his name has been cleared, his standing in the party rehabilitated and his ties to the electorate broadened. Justice will be served only when the two assassins within the party are politically terminated. That process has begun. That’s Paul Sheehan. No names.

The Party Paul Sheehan is writing about is the Liberal Party. The assassins are alive. But, they had better know that the wagons are circling. The Towke story confirms what I am saying. There are people in the Liberal Party whose behaviour owes more to bikie gang politics than it does to liberal democracy.

  67. Freddie, you seriously need to wake up and smell the roses, my friend.

The Taliban are not the John Howard Conservatives you silly boy. In fact, I remember the days when David Clarke used to run around telling all and sundry about how bad John Howard was, the same message he delivers today to Alan Jones about Alex Hawke.

The truth of the matter is that John Howard and the Firm were always suspicious of the nutjobs who ran around with David Clarke. Remember, it was Howard who wanted to dump Towke and keep Marise Payne in the Senate because he was always sus on who that nutter Clarke wanted to elect.

Remember who Howard used to employ in his office? People like Anthony Roberts, Jamie Briggs, Tim James, Chris Stone, Andrew Jeffries and others who were all conservative in their views, but not extreme or aligned with Opus Dei figures like Clarke.

In fact, none of the Taliban, except maybe McCoy, have ever been employed with an MP or Senator of any note. Even that useless mafiose character, Ficarra, doesn’t employ Young Libs in her office, preferring to keep that fat loser, De Luca off the dole queue…. If Perrottet got elected to Castle Hill, he would employ that slimy, friendless Oakhill nerd, Chad Sidler – highlighting the strength of the Talibani talent pool!

The Talis are just a useless, good for nothing rent a crowd who stack branches with opus dei associaties. If you’re not one of them, you’re automatically a lefty. What a sad bunch of people they really are?

They are not good for democracy, the Liberal Party or the people of New South Wales.

  73. LOL. I only have to look at that so-called ‘hard right’ list. And work out who’s on it, who actually have a job! And why is it that all of the talented people such as Greg Smith, a Senior Council, is called a liar? Also, I see after Hawke was exposed, and justice is taking it’s course, that Michael Towke has been vindicated. Who would have thought?

  74. “Alan Jones is a fat gay dinosaur.

When will people wake up to his lies?”

Coming from the master of lies Alex Hawke. You’re king of the kids because grown up’s don’t take you seriously.

    Grown up’s like Alan Jones.

But go on have a tantrum if you want. You are such a looser Hawke.

  75. Haberfield! whatever happened to that joke of an outfit?

Last time they met was when Hawke tried to stack it full of his sock puppets, like ‘Death Warmed Up’ and ‘More Dicks than Hot Breakfasts’. that was funny

H has been useless for about 5 years now. i don’t know why it persisted, but i bet it will never meet again now

  77. Ok, let us have a look at the smart young kids of the Tali. These are the real up and comers of the Liberal Party.

Mr/Ms “OhPlease” – loser not “looser”, why do you have an apostrophe after the “up” and before the “s”? Must be what they teach at Redfield.

Mr/Ms “The List” – for such an ardent support of Greg Smith SC you think you may have looked up that it stands for “Senior Counsel” and not “Council”. I don’t believe the man is some Local Government authority. Can you also please go through and tell me the exact imputations or accusations News Corporation made against Mr Towke that were not true and also explain which ones were true.

  78. Heh, well good on you Justin. You see, News Corp settled… and the Liberal party apologised! You air head!!! So why don’t you catch up with the news, stop denying that this didn’t happen, and rack off to a public toilet somewhere!?!?!

Police Minister Michael Daley drawing to the attention of the Parliament the fact that the Liberal party are at war with each other and that MP Alex Hawke wasted police time and resources.
