SAD: How the mighty Jaspan has fallen
Heckler reports that the former Editor in Chief of The Age and occasional paid opinionist on Melbourne ABC Andrew Jaspan is so keen for a new gig that he was willing to take the miserly $90k offered by left wing email newsletter publisher Eric Beecher to serve as editor. Beecher instead opted for Sophie Black, by all reports a better choice than her bald predecessor and certainly couldn’t have been worse than the Jaspan. We hear Guy ‘Gee’ Rundle was also keen but was encouraged by Beecher to continue writing for them with a little pay rise. Some inside the bunker worry that he might take his beret and ball and go home.
