DEAD HEAD DEAD CERT: Labor scrapes bottom of the barrel in ministry pick
In what is undoubtedly the lowest point in the ten year history of the mostly successful Labor government in Victoria, Socialist Lefty Lily D’Ambrosio looks certain to be promoted to the Victorian ministry over rival leftist Liz Beattie.
In a ruthless demonstration of sub-factional power, aspiring Deputy Premier Daniel Andrews has arm-twisted and cajoled his way into getting his ally Comrade D’Ambrosio into the position of favouritism at this point.
Andrews is a prominent operator in the Socialist Left sub-faction that includes Gavin Jennings, ladies man Alan Griffin and latte sipper Andrew Giles. He has been highly successful in enforcing that sub-faction’s vice-like grip on the Left’s ministry spots.
Rumour suggests that the Premier himself will be supporting D’Ambrosio, persuaded by representations from Andrews et al.
Insider critics say that the decision to restrict the selection to one gender and one faction from the lower house has been critical in ensuring an absurd choice prevailed.
D’Ambrosio is a former left-wing white collar union official – who helped run what was the Federated Clerks Union into the dust of memory – before stacking her way onto the green leather of the Legislative Assembly using family ties to elderly Italian former communist supporters in the Mill Park region.
“The only thing she’s not mediocre at is hating,” one sad colleague remarked this afternoon.
The Carr sub-faction is believed to have preferred Liz Beattie, generally regarded as a far smoother operator and less likely to bow before lefty dark prince Daniel Andrews, who prefers to look down upon the bowed heads of his serfs.
The caucus meeting to elect the new minister will be tomorrow with sad observers remarking that the selection of “Silly Lily” is strongly reminiscent of some of the more exotic choices for ministerial selection made in the dying days of the last Victorian Labor government.

D’Ambrosio is nothing but am ethic branchstacking warlord.
She sat as an EO to another ethnic stacker Alex Andrianopolous and piled the Italian aged pensioners into the Lalor and Mill Park branches.
D’Ambrosio would have an IQ less than 75 and truly is a simpleton.
But politics is about factions than skill so she will no doubt be bumped up.
Liz Beattie would be the safer option and a far better Minister than Lily.
If her face was a little thinner I would associate that grin with Frank Spencer from “Some Mothers do have ‘em”

Community Development is a good fit for her: she’s been a community development parliamentary secretary, she has extensive experience working with community groups as a local member and her mother was a community worker.
What kind of made up portfolio is Respect Agenda (Madden)? And is arts the kiss of death (Delahunty, Kosky and now Batchelor)?
Community development sounds like a faux portfolio to me. You’re either Premier, Treasurer, Finance, Education, Health, Transport, Police or Attorney General the rest are just made up or bits taken off the actual ministry.

I am a passionate Labor supporter however I have had enough and hope the libs win the next election. The way this Labor State Government has treated so many of its own staff members (well those hard working staffers who aren’t merely big ethnic branch stackers )showing no loyalty, cancelling employment at the drop of a hint a ‘bad publicity’ compared with how the tori’s look after their ‘own’ people. It’s a total disgrace and shows what a gutless government this is. Go the Tori’s ! Labor deserve to lose.
