A highly prominent Australian-Indian community leader and Liberal party member Vasan Sirnasavan this morning flatly contradicted Ted Baillieu’s incendiary assertions that racists criminals were targetting Indian students in Victoria.
Vasan is the President of Indian Federation of Victoria – and has been a long-time factional ally of Baillieu within the Liberal party – and told Jon Faine on ABC – with Ted Baillieu sitting uncomfortably in the studio – that the Indian media had “beaten up” claims that race-hate had motivated attacks.
A twenty year Liberal party member and former Liberal candidate for Forest Hill, Vasan denied Indian students were being singled out.
It was a total debacle for Baillieu because prior to Vasan coming on air, Baillieu had been speaking most emphatically about the views of the Indian community, as if he had consulted with them.
Clearly he hasn’t.
The Indian community leader made it clear Australia and Victoria is not a racist place.
He defended Victoria Police and pointed to considerable efforts that had been made to keep Indian students safe. Vasan explained that a number of damaging urban myths had arisen among Indian students – like reporting crime would have an adverse effect on permanent residency applications. He explained that much work was being done to address that.
He explained that after meeting journalists, community leaders and government officials in India for the past few weeks that he was convinced that the attacks on Australia were part of a media “beat-up.”
He pointed to the dramatic increase in the number of Indian students here, from 14000 a few years ago to 95000 now. That statistic alone speaks to how popular Melbourne has become as a destination for Indian students despite the best efforts of those who wish to trash our good name including the sensationalist Indian media and a Liberal leader who should know better.
Vasan made it clear that this is a law and order issue, not a question of Australians being racist. And that priority needed to be given to ensuring that everyone coming to Australia was given every possible assistance in keeping safe. We couldn’t agree more. Perhaps they should make Vasan Liberal leader and let Ted Baillieu retire to Portsea.
Listen for yourself, it’s the last five minutes or so of this ABC audio file.
ROTFL…
))))
Sitting in his comfortable and larger than average AV Jennings home in leafy middle class and safe Forest Hills – Vasan has made a lot of money as an immigration agent for indian students over the years… and it is not at all surprising that he publicly argues there is no racist problem in Melbourne. His bank balance depends upon it!
His political future in the Liberal Party also depends on it… as over the years – many, many hundreds of Indians have found themselves churned through by Vasan as members of the Liberal Party in Forest Hills – even though they regularly dodge racist attacks outside their homes in the West of Melbourne.
Vex can do better than this when trying to undermine Bailleau… but this particular angle is dry turf.
Forget this Vasan nonsense. Boongaloo is the future of Indian-Liberals in Victoria
Vasan must be very pissed off. He is a rock solid Jeffista.
If Ted has turned away friends like Vasan, then his time as Leader must be nearly up.
From what I hear, even Jeff is pretty cool on Baillieu these days. I think he would like someone with a bit of fire in the belly.
Vasan would have made a much better MP than Kirstie Marshall. At least he would have shown up at the office and represented the people of Forest Hill properly
Kirstie Marshall represents me very well thankyou very much.
Deputising Vasan, the greatest branch stacker in the history of the Liberal Party, into your irrational vendetta against Ted Baillieu, is a new low watermark for you.
Target 155? Perhaps Target Tim Holding for wasting our state’s money on a white elephant when there are other options.
Vasan, you stopped returning my calls and smses.
Why?
Vasan, the greatest branch stacker in the history of the Liberal Party???????
I think not!!!!!!!!!!!
Ted must still have the numbers. Otherwise he’d be gone by now.
If not the worst, perhaps the more notorious.
Most stackers have the decency to stack using people who live in the country.
I’ve been a very naughty boy.

Vexnews is getting warmer but you are still avoiding the hottest dish on the table…Vasan Inc.
Vasan is an adroit businessman who has sucked in both George Lakakis and Brumby into a deeper and deeper black hole that is laughable until you consider it risks the the ALP government in Victoria.
Vasan has lost his gold mine of Indian students and now seems to suck firmly on the tit of state government. But the dumby faction does not quite understand his role.
By backing the governments unbelievable position of safe streets he is helping Ted solidify the Asian vote in a wide arch from Tarniet to Thomastown and then down through Mitcham – ForestHill -Burwood to Cranbourne.
The FIAV does not represent much and each day Brumby props up Vasan and repeats its mantra of denial it loses credibility in the Indian and Asian community.
Everytime Indians see Vasan we are reminded that the vile exploitation of Indian students via dodgy colleges mainly by well connected Anglos, Chinese, Indians, Sri Lankans and Greeks. In a global world no political and business players should assume that this will not be all published in juicy details this year.
Brumby’s mob and the Socialist Left faction have done themselves in by getting into bed with the college owners, who control nothing and stand for nothing except for a broken and discredited ‘get rich quick’ scheme that the feds have now blown apart.
Financial bankrupts now dine with the morally bankrupt and both bleat the same sad ditty, ‘we are not racist, we welcome you, please bring back your millions to Victoria’.
How many more tax payer funded Parliamentary trips and PR stunts will Brumby do with such community leaders as Vasan while us plebs waste time debating ‘racism’?
The PRIVATE COLLEGE owners and their secret backers swallowed the millions and we all swallowed the crime and social costs…we are still picking up the pieces from an ‘International education Industry’ that made working class suburbs and poor Asians take all the pain while well connected individuals took all the gain.
There is still time for Victorian Labor to stand up for labor values and migrants rights…dump the shonking college operators and take on Ballieu…
The students may have been bashed by young yobbos but they where fleeced by politically connected private college operators..and even the middleclass asians know this.
Why is Brumby protecting all this Liberal Party trash???
Like the Pyramid scam under Cain this International student rip off will wreck labor while liberal darlings who ran it never give back one cent to the students or the tax payers.
Wake up Andy. Wake up ALP.
If you want to demolish Ted you will have to let go of Vasan, come down from your dream land, and finally admit that the international student private college fiasco was a sorry mistake from start to finish.
The Victorian community and the Indian community all deserve an apology for an industry that ran rough shod over the students’ rights and Victoria’s reputation.
What are Boongaloo’s views exactly?
Why is vexnews promoting Vasan, the branch stacker and FIAV stacker?
His election in FIAV is being challenged by George Thomas, and was earlier challenged by Gautam and Hari Yellina.
And vexnews also ran a story on Vasan’s challenger no 1 in Indian community: Gautam Gupta
Gives some idea whats going on
I hear the Liberals are outsourcing their electioneering calls to an Indian call Centre.
“Hallooo mr thomson you have been selected to receieve a special call from the Liberal Party and a chance to switch your electricity and save 10% if yoou pay on time, and a furder 5% if you vote Liberal”
Click
Vasan is NOT the most prominent Indian in Liberal Party. He never was – Even Ahston Ashok Kumar is more popular than Vasan
Babu Akula, Conrad D’Souza, Daya Shetty, Philomena Doherty are more prominent Indians in Liberal party than Vanson.
Vasan and Gautam Fisa are hardly known in Indian community
Vasan is NOT the most prominent Indian in Liberal party – Ashoton Ashok Kemar and Conrad D’Souza were candidates from Indian party in 2006 elections – Vasan couldnt manage getting pre selected back then.

Look at Johnnies face he is thinking “Phew this Dothead stinks she’s nearly as smelly as Tim Fisher’s old blue heeler”
Vexnews – do the home work Jon Faine has already done?
What are the commercial interests between key ALP and liberal advisers and Vasan and other international college operators?
Until you know this you are all just boxing shadows…
Here is a hint about who has smashed our reputation…
o o o o’brien…
Yeah…
Well put.
Isn’t Phil Honeywood and his “college” one of Vasans biggest Clients???
From Crikey:
Phil Honeywood writes: I have just returned from an education recruitment marketing trip to both southern and northern India. Your readers need to know that it is not the safety issue that is keeping the students away. Most of the prospective students I did seminars with know that Australia is still incredibly safe, compared to our competitor education markets of the UK, USA and Canada. Many also have friends and family here and are telling them that the Indian media has blown the issue up out of all proportion.
The real issue, which no media outlet has got onto yet, is that the Rudd Government have, over the last two months, stopped virtually all student visa grants from India for study at Australian universities, TAFEs and private providers. What used to be a 40% average visa rejection rate has suddenly jumped to a 97% visa rejection rate from our High Commission in New Delhi. So Indian students are paying app. $500 AUD to apply for a student visa ( non-refundable ) and waiting 4 months for a response — only to be rejected on some very contrived grounds.
In the meantime, competitor education markets such as UK and Canada have opened up their student visa approval process — the exact opposite to Australia ! So all the Education Agents in India who have been sending students to Australia are now re-directing the students to these countries instead!
Dare we suggest that the Indian student safety issue is a convenient camouflage for the Federal Government to wind-back Indian migration?
Bikie Gang Tactics, a “cancer” on the Liberal Party, Machiavellian Plotters…
Now The Little General is at it again!

Which one of those people in photograph is VASON? Gee… He in NOT the most prominent Indian.. Infact VASON was born in Singapore.
Babu Akula, also known as Boongaloo, is the most prominent Indian-Liberal in Victoria.
Foreigners telling us what to think and speak. If they all go home then that would be the end of the problem.
YES, which one in the above Snap is VASIN ? He is definitely NOT the most prominent Indian in Liberal Party.
OH so Babu Akula is Boongaloo – YES he id definitely more prominent than VASIN AGENTNIVASIN.
For few years, we had the Labor Premier John Brumby and his Police Commissioner in denial over violence in our streets, in particular violence targeted against Victorians of Indian background or Indians living in Victoria.
The huge swing against the State Labor Government in the Altona by-election was a tribute to Ted Baillieu’s honesty and courage and readiness to speak the truth in the face of terrible obfuscation by the State Labor Government.
Thank you ALTONA voters for showing your support to Ted Baillieu, and the Indian community.
I sincerely hope John Brumby and VASAN AGENTASIN gather the strength to speak out truth.
HEY VA SIN AGENT A SIN please go back to Singapore.. Victoria is happy without you
Put a recent decent snap of VA SIN AGENT A SIN please
Which one in the snap is VA SIN ?
VA SIN AGENT A SIN
It isn’t education they’re after, but cheap immigration queue jumping. It is time we had a thorough investigation of the fraudulent practices of this “education” industry.
and VA SIN is an AGENT A SIN for those migration queue jumpers.. While GAUTAM FISA is trying his best to stop this.
VA SIN the most prominent AGENT A SIN in Melbourne – Nothing else – He has a school in Malaysia, while he was born in Singapore.
VASIN AGENT A SIN or even GAUTAM FISA are not the most prominent Indians in Melbourne …. They are self declared community leaders with hardly any members in their organisations.
Oh good gracious deary me, I so hope you saw the photos of me and my family in the weekend press, I so do get off on all this publicity. Now I know how Sir Les feels seeing his handsome photographs in the daily papers.
THANK YOU ALP for giving me FIAV office in Dandenong
Who’s SON is VA..
Sorry WHO’s SIN is VA
