PATTERN DEVELOPS: Tim Gartrell leaves Auspoll in mess

timgartrelllocust Controversial former ALP national secretary Tim Gartrell who ran up an enormous and secret debt of some $10 million that has not yet been repaid has abruptly left polling company Auspoll.

The lefty’s successor from the NSW Right Karl Bitar has struggled to pay down the debt in a climate where corporate fundraising has been agonisingly difficult.

Gartrell has been under pressure about Auspoll’s performance, with long-time Auspoll employee John Armitage recently leaving on unhappy terms. Armitage occasionally tells people he was the founder of Auspoll but the real founder was actually Labor Victorian Legislative Council hardman Matt Viney who sold the company before entering politics. Company insiders familiar with the situation say the company has been left in a “deplorable situation” by Gartrell.

The Labor lefty’s sudden departure from Auspoll was announced yesterday by an aboriginal welfare not-for-profit Generation One which has hired him.

The charity has been established by billionaire Andrew Forrest, whose $5 billion fortune will hopefully be sufficient for Gartrell not to be able deplete in his usual record time.

  2. Give the poor aboriginies a break. Haven’t they suffered enough without this swarmy self indulgent git getting his fangs into them. What next, perhaps a nice paid job for his pertner in crime Nic Martin??

  3. Never did think Auspoll was a great scientific institution. Guess they’ll have to replace him with another Green Marxist.

  4. Tim is a hopeless Left nitwit.

He couldn’t get laid in a monkey whorehouse with a bunch of bananas.

I once remember that Tim was touted by luckily-soon-to-be-former Left layabout Bob Debus as a potential parliamentarian……

The dickhead couldn’t run a bath.

  6. That’s right Clam Man, Tim’s hopeless. That’s why he delivered a major Labor majority. What a fool, hey?! He should be more like that smart Liberal director -a massive loss and bigger debt. Now that’s smart, don’t you reckon?

And this ‘monkey’ left a terrible legacy – a huge HoR majority and a 2-3 term Labor government.

Take a look in the mirror, son, It’s not a pretty sight.

  7. Wendy, it would not be unreasonable to acknowledge the “2-3 term Labor government” on a successful and united Your Rights At Work campaign, the fact that Rudd came across as a viable alternative to Howard and the fact that the longevity of the Howard government was looking a little tired?

Oh no, that mattered naught – it was all little Timmy Gartell’s doing that Labor won.

Oh, go and have a Latte you dopey cow.

  8. That’s right, Labor didn’t win, some alien life force took poor Howard’s majority back to the mothership and probed it. Why do you lot never face reality – Labor won with a massive swing. Your fellow citizens turfed the Coalition out. Now 1 in 5 votes Green.

Are you a denier Clam Man or do you think Mr Abbott will win the next election?

  9. No Wendy. I don’t think he’ll win. But he’ll have a respectable loss.

When they probed Howard’s majority, did they use lube?

Who are “you lot”? Non-fat chicks?

I love you Wendy. Have you figured out who I am yet?

  11. Can I ask if anyone knows how much the federal Liberal party is in debt? Also, why are few businesses donating to them? Isn’t it true that this election, labor will outspend the Libs by about 4 to 1. Why is that, given Labor is the ‘working man’s’ party?

  12. might be that some of andy’s comments are a little misplaced. from my watching of west wing – and recent australian political cycles, election year takes the party into debt. then you have a couple of years to get out of debt and build up a bit of a war chest for the next election campaign. But, i suspect andy knows this – and is perhaps spending a little too much time pursuing a vendetta against this gattrell bloke – rather, than any balanced reporting. For instance, how are those HSUA “patriots” the Jacksons going? they still run a first class union in your view Andy? you went very quiet on the absolute debacle that happened (and continues to happen) at the HSUA, Yet, you seem to go after some guy who managed a Federal election win. bit biased perhaps?

  14. Wendy get off the Prozac. Working mans party what a croc of shit. How many millionaires are there in the fold? they wouldnt know how much a loaf of bread was. The libs lost the election because of their stubborness and arrogance labor won it with bullshit.

  15. You can’t argue against that SP. Labor’s win in 2007 was 50% that everyone was tired of Howard and 50% we all fell for the BS.

Labor will win the next election but they will lose a few seats. 2 in NSW. 2 in Qld for sure.

Rudd’s big problem wont be Abbott. It will be Gillard. She will start the push immediately after the election for Kev to move on. Why? Because she is even more ambitious than he is, plus she is willing to sell out as she has done to her faction, the unions and every working family as she keeps on rabbitting on about.

Gillard is a thoroughly modern Labor politician. Ruthless, without ideals and willing to bend on everything.

She will one day win – but we will all the the big losers.
