NSW Greens MP Sylvia Phyllis Hale has failed to deny accusations of involvement in the murder of controversial Sydney property developer and ‘last resort lender’ Michael McGurk.
The member of Parliament, who presents as a harmless old lady but is said to be secretly far more menacing and imposing, made headlines when she asked a multi-millionaire property developer Ron Medich whether he was involved in the matter.
Sydney sources have told VEXNEWS that they believe “she is covering her tracks” and might well “have very good reason to do so.” VEXNEWS has no evidence linking Hale to the murder or other missing Sydney business identities.
However, Hale – and her party – have strongly opposed most property development in Sydney and are believed to be linked to those who’ve objected to developments in which McGurk was involved. This is the kind of motive that is believe to have first given rise to the pall of suspicion falling over the NSW upper house MP who was once a member of the Socialist Left faction of the ALP.
Shockingly, and in what could be a huge breakthrough in the investigation, Sylvia Hale’s own website makes her hatred of developers and her desire to injure them very clear:
The Bad Developer Awards are our opportunity each year to give some dreadful developers and their developments the brickbats they deserve…
According to dictionary.com, a brickbat:
1. a piece of broken brick, esp. one used as a missile.
2. any rocklike missile.
3. A piece, especially of brick, used as a weapon or missile.
Others have speculated to VEXNEWS that the Greens political party could have decided to embark on a campaign of direct action against prominent developers, possibly planning other ‘hits’ on property developers in addition to the violent confrontations their supporters sometimes arrange outside controversial apartment developments, national parks and rivals’ offices.
“There’s a fine line between these various acts of violence they are already known for and a murder,” one long-term Greens observer told us this afternoon. “Nothing would surprise me with the Greens, it would be a terrible shame if eco-terrorism of this kind had hit Sydney. It’s horrifying. If Hale is threatening ‘bad developers’ on her website, then you just hate to think what’s going on there.”
Hale has been described before as a “firebrand” after repeatedly losing her cool in the NSW Legislative Council. She outraged Jewish groups and both sides of politics when she asserted Australia’s immigration policies with the Nazi “Final Solution.” Hale – seen by some colleagues as a “hothead” and “loon” prone to snapping in moments of stress, apologised for making the comment “in the heat of the moment.” NSW Labor Treasurer at the time Michael Costa called on her to resign over the disgrace.
The upper house MP was asked by a VEXNEWS reporter this morning a series of detailed questions about her involvement in the Michael McGurk case and whether she’d been told to ‘keep her mouth shut’ about it by her party superiors or legal advisers. She was also asked whether the Greens party had extended their violent protests to target individuals they believe guilty of wrongdoing against the environment or the social good.
Ms Hale was not immediately available for comment, despite being given ample opportunity to deny the charges, she has still failed to comment at the time of publication.
Oh, Don’t pick on the Greens! The only thing Sylvia could hurt is her hair….check out her ‘do!
The Greens are bad. They believe in free love and free condoms. They believe in nothing my Church holds dear. Sylvia is a monster. If she attends Mass at my Church the priest will do to her what George Pell did to Jeff Kennett and refuse her communion.
Great parody of the SMH, I think!
is it 1 april today?
How did she do it? herself or a Greens trained accomplice?
I hope they didn’t flee the scene by car to ensure a carbon neutral slaying.
What did Bob Brown know and when did he know it?
Is Joe Tripodi the next for the Greens to ‘knock’???
Do brickbats also mean insults?
Hale – The Green Hammer
The greens are filth
The greens are scum
Greens voters are all fugly
Why can’t this murderous Green give peace a chance?
Very sad it has come to this.
I still don’t get why my question was ruled out of order — surely Mr Medich could simply have answered Yes or No. He reaction suggests something sinister — what’s he trying to cover up? So again I ask you Mr Medich: Did you have any involvement in the murder of Michael McGurk? Sylvia Hale
Still, a Green streak beats a Brown streak any day!
Most barristers will tell you Medich gave the wrong answer. His reply should have been NO! Instead he threw the accusation back – how could he be so stupid.
Only The Greens stand up to the thugs and bullies running our country.
That’s why the voters are getting behind them.
Thank you Ms Hale and Greens.

According to a report in the SMH today the Medichs have made significant donations to the ALP. In 2004 they are said to have weighed in with a modest $5459 but after July 2005 having made an application to have a parcel of land rezoned and having acquired the influential services of Lobbyist Richardson the donations are said to have increased exponentially. It’s reported that in 2005 they tipped in $148,680 and in 2006 and 2007 $197,100.The parcel of land in question had been purchased in 1996 for $3.5 million but rezoning would have increased it’s value to a heart warming $400 million.Sadly the rezoning, even though recommended by Planning NSW,come unstuck when Minister Sartor boned it.Sartor is no longer Planning Minister,in fact he has been demoted to a humble backbencher.Just what role Spunky Sylvia had in all of this remains unexplained but it’s becoming increasingly clear that it may be necessary for the Police to eventually find that McGurk wasn’t murdered at all but in fact committed suicide if the lid is to be got back on this particular can of worms and we can all get back to business as usual,ALP-style.
The Greens should have decided to embark on a campaign of direct action against prominent developers, possibly planning other “hits” on property developers.
Very clever, very funny, very true :D
Well done
Amos
How droll… The Greens direct their preferences to the Labor Party when it suits them, bugger the voting public. Labor rorting hand in hand with developers often found to be paying the politicians way, is the government abuse of our due process! Greens are an inbred relation of Labor.
