ZAPPED: Premier Iemma’s foes flick the switch to surrender

NSW Premier Morris Iemma has seen off a caucus and party rebellion over electricity privatisation and is now keen to focus on the future.

Iemma is focused on big projects that will make a long-term impact on the state, like converting ugly areas like the Hungry Mile docks into a new development complete with parks that restores the original shoreline. Colourful former PM Paul Keating is in charge of the project, a clever way of keeping the loudest anti-development critic in Sydney in the cart.

The Daily Telegraph reported today that Iemma met four senior MPs representing Left and Right factions after a meeting of the party’s administrative committee on Wednesday, where they told Mr Iemma the caucus was now behind him.

Meanwhile an exodus of people from Channel Nine in Sydney to the government is said to have borne fruit for state Health Minister Reba Meagher who is believed to be “dating” Adam Walters.

  1. What a load of cobblers!

Iemma is done like a dinner. He is just trying to hang around for another 12 months so he can get his full Premier’s entitlements of a car & driver, office and staffer and full pension.
