When Howard was PM, Greensparty and ALP haters endorsed CD saying “Gun Him Down” and he’s a “Filthy Slut” #auspol

Andrew Bolt, a much more polite, decent and intelligent man than given credit for by some who don’t like his political views, was one of the first and most emphatic to condemn Fairfax Radio Howard Sattler’s crude attack on the PM and her partner this week. He’s right to remind us though that some very senior Labor figures including Peter Garrett, former WA Premier Carmen Lawrence and Greesnparty leader Bob Brown endorsed a vile CD “Rock Against Howard” that urged his killing and called him a “filthy slut.”

  1. You have always had terrible taste in men. I mean at university there was that loathsome Keir and now there is Andy.

Of course Mr Bolt is right about some things – that is what happens you express an opinion about everything – but, more generally, he is a self important polemicist who contradicts himself every day. He reminds me of the horrible trots who used to lecture and pontificate about anyone and everything.

    Find a new idol.

  2. As far as idols go, Andrew Bolt is quite a good one. While he sometimes writes opinion pieces that are quite emphatically opinionated (that’s the role of a journalist writing in the opinion pages) and strongly critical of the hypocrisy or extremism of the left, he is genuinely decent in person and very engaging in considering alternative opinions.

I admire his writing and his arguments even when he occasionally expresses a viewpoint that I disagree with.

In those circumstances, I suspect his viewpoint is probably more reflective of mainstream Australian values than my own which may stray too far to the libertarian or minimalist intervention right.
